jamie2002 Posted August 29, 2008 Share Posted August 29, 2008 I just discovered yesterday that my boyfriend has a severe viral infection and there is no end date. His doctor said that he has to take it really easy until he is better or he can die!!! It will be a minimum of months and maybe a lot longer.. I have never delt with anything like this and i am trying to be strong but i am really scared for him and was just hoping that someone out there has gone through something like this and maybe has some insight.. He is in so much pain and its breaking my heart to watch him go through this. Link to post Share on other sites

They can't really do anything but give him vicadin at night and ibriprofin in the day to help him ease the pain. Link to post Share on other sites

Author jamie2002 Posted August 29, 2008 Author Share Posted August 29, 2008 OH god no.. he doesn't want to be taking that but the doctor says its really the only way he will sleep at night.. he has a sharp stabbing pain on the side of his head like someone is stabbing him with an ice pick.. No he doesnt expect me to wait on him..but i have to take care of him I really don't have a choice.. I am his girlfriend and i want to be there for him with whatever i can. I believe the parasite involved in this particular illness is an Amoeba. It travels along the nerve and secretes digestive enzymes. Very rare, and very deadly. I would like a little more info on this illness as well. Who was the top Doctor he saw? We could look him up and find out about his specialty. Perhaps this is a Viral Meningitis?
