Author Eve
Was born a Catholic but converted to Islam several years ago. I could go on and on why I made the "switch" but I think that would be a new topic on its own. I've always believed in the higher power, in God, heaven, angels, all of it, Islam, for me, shed more light on these beliefs than my original Catholic teachings. Interesting. I too have always believed in something 'higher' and it was via direct experiences that I came to know Christ. Out of curiousity, are there many stories of people being touched by Allah? I have not heard any accounts/read any such books from a Muslim perspective you see. If it were not for my experiences I would not have identified myself as a Christian as such but would have remained open. Obviously I still am open to hearing different perspectives but I dont really tell people that I am a Christian in real life. I dont like to label myself... to many expectations. So do you pray five times a day?

Author Eve
I'm Christian (a practicing Catholic) I do not know much about Catholicism. Mostly when people say they are Catholics I have noted that they will state whether they are practising or not. Are there certain things which are mandatory? I like scary films too, but I am a bit of a chicken really and tend to hide behind cushions a lot. At the cinema I am the annoying person who gasps loudly/screams/hyperventilates. Have you seen 'The Storm of the Century? Its a Steven King three part film. Really well written - I watched it the other day. I am still confused as to why it was shown on 'True Movies' though - the film couldnt possibly be true. I dont like films like 'Saw', 'Wolf creek', Vacany, or The Strangers though. Too creepy for me... though I will still probably watch some of the content until I cant anymore. The film I dislike the most, ever was 'Goodfellas' *shudders*
elaina
Hello Eve, I'm a Christian cause I've accepted God's gift of forgiveness and eternal life through Jesus I'm not really into a specific denomination, but I go to an Assembly of God church that is like family to me. Even though I've been a Christian for a while, I'm still growing in my relationship with Jesus. About movies, I like Remember the Titans. One of my favorites!!! oh and my fav musical is Phantom of the Opera... so romantic! Peace and God bless
Shygirl15
Hi Shygirl. I am not sure what a 'Lutheran' is - I will have to google it. What did your Parents think to your conversion? Yes, I realize Lutheran is not common in the US. We share pretty much the same beliefs as Protestants. My father is a Muslim and mother a Christian; when they married they agreed that we'll all be raised Muslims at first, then make our own choices at 15 yrs. Some of us converted, but my other siblings remained Muslims.
knaveman
Hello, I am a Christian but I am thankfully now open to more of the journey of faith. I am a new member and would like to find out who here believes in God and why they do. So speak up. Please also add which are your favourite films.. and why because I love films. : ) I am a Buddhist although I have never been to a temple or gone through any formal ceremony. I believe in God, but it's a rather generic god I guess. Just a higher power. I don't really have any favorite movies. I like anything that doesn't feel like a waste of time. RecordProducer
I am not religious, I don't believe in any of the gods and if it weren't for good-food holidays, I'd never celebrate any religious holiday. But... I always say "Thank God..." "God willing..." "God forbid" I used to have a friend who'd said "I wish you good health and you take care of the rest!" Since then it's become my personal philosophy.
Jilly Bean
Eve, I am a practicing Pagan. NOT a Wiccan, which is really new age paganism, or, pagan *lite*. lol Im both a Celtic and Cabot witch (Celtic is a type of withcraft that is connected to the Ancients, or Druids, and a Cabot witch means that I am descended from a line of witches, The Cabots, that date back to the Burning Times). So, I have more than one God, but we do believe in the main deities of God and Goddess, representing masculine and feminine energies, and the bodies of the Sun and the Moon.
