What to make of his actions?

I met this person on a dating site, we talked on the phone for awhile, he lives 3 hours away from me but his family is still in my city, he asked if he could meet me when he comes home, i said sure, we met, i also met his friends, we went to play pool and bowling, had a great time, he kissed me at the end of the night. We then got together on labor day, went to his house he cooked for me and his mother, yes i met the mother already lol. Spent the day with him, he kissed me several times at his house. He then took me back home and we talked for awhile outside. He then asked for a hug and then kissed me good bye, i didnt want him to leave i felt such a connection with him was hard, since we live 3 hours away, he texted me on tues when he was leaving and said was nice meeting you, i enjoyed your company and when i come home again i hope to see you. i thought he would of called me yesterday when he got home but no phone call, and nothing today from him and nothing on wed either, does this mean hes no longer interested, or hes taking him time in calling me so he doesnt seem over eager lol. please help me understand men.another thing we talked everyday before we met not its nothing. lol and we are over 24 years old. I wanna text him a message to let him know i am still interested in him but i believe a man should make the attempt. Maybe him not calling is telling me hes not interested, but if that was the case why did he tell me when he comes home again he hopes to see me. Should i send him a text message or shall i wait for him to contact me? Or what do you think i shall do in this situation? Do men have a waiting time frame before they call the women again, he told me he would still keep in touch with me but havent heard from him since tues.
