ate_the_paint
I'm recently newly-returned to the singles scene after a long relationship. This, in itself, is not too bad because the last time I was single I was okay with the ladies. Things have changed, however, because now I'm stuck in an itsy-bitsy town (2 bars, no traffic lights, a lot of pickup trucks) on the west coast. The nearest "city" is a 4 hour drive away over a mountain range! My career took me here, and I can't leave until another advancement comes along. I'm not bad looking and I dress well (compared to the all-denim outfits, jogging pants, and mullets that are my competition), and I have a car and a power job. You would think that alone would make me the town's most eligible bachelor. The problem is that I'm picky with my women. I don't want baby-mamas and recovering alcoholics and BBW's escaping from abusive boyfriends, etc. These, by the way, make up a large percentage of the available women in this town! Jerry Springer would have a field day here! No, I like women with a bit of class and sophistication who have jobs and education and care about themselves. These women exist here, but they are all taken! So what's a guy to do? I'm very close to moving in on some other guy's girl. We've already developed the necessary rapport, established and heightened the flirtation, and her coworkers say she's unhappy in her relationship. Geez, talk about making it easier for me. But then comes all that drama, etc etc, which I don't want. I just went through my own drama and need a break from that. But I don't want to spend every night alone for the next few years! lol On top of everything, she is a waitress at the one pub I go to almost every single day after work! It's my own personal "Cheers", and I would literally be "pooping" in my own nest! I know it's wrong and I can't help myself. Stop me from moving in on this girl! I need to bite my tongue to stop from asking her out sometimes! I don't want other-man drama, and I don't want to ruin my one hangout in this boring town. This girl is something else. I mean, she's a real knockout! lol I know all the reasons why it's wrong. Stop me from getting myself into trouble!
2sunny
have a little self control. throw in a bit of patience and you'll be fine. other gals will appear in time. this one is taken. these are boundaries that you clearly should not cross. you can be nice and polite with her - but to tempt her and yourself is just wrong. D-Lish
So what's a guy to do? Honestly? move. Or get onto the online dating and lure someone to come down and live with you.

beautifullove
Honestly, you need to move a.s.a.p. It will drive you nuts, or turn you into a countryman. I was in an area that was a dead stop, which was partially my fault for making the wrong moves. Anyway, as soon as I could get away, I did. I actually would spot someone who looked like they were in tune with the city life - young, professional, cool, whatever - and actually approach them and ask them where are the places to be at?????? They would say, "THERE ARE NONE in the imediate, only those over an hour away." I knew I had to go. Good luck!
