Why doesn't everyone cheat?

Recommended Posts

Came across this site which claims to have isolated the gene that predisposes one to cheat. The scientists studied men because the hormone being examined is known to play a larger role in their brains than in women's brains. Sorry guys...:p:)

And before you say, "My genes made me do it?" read on. This one is more on the religion side. But plainly put, being predisposed does not mean one is a helpless preprogrammed robot with no moral choice in the matter.

That gene was made for a purpose, to drive the species; Although people with their head screwed on straight can remain monogamous.

Some people even treasure the close bond formed with their partner and prefer monogamy. :)

I never have understood how cheaters act like it was a big "oops", when there is an entire series of events that leads up to cheating. The decision to cheat, in my eyes, is made LONG before the cheating occurs. I avoid it all.

I have to say I agree completely with this statement. I was in a relationship for 5 years and only found out near then end that he had cheated on my repeatedly. And as it happens every time was with a girl that I knew he was "friends" with but he just couldn't resist flirting and eventually getting physical with them.

When I found out he tried to tell me that it was a mistake and that he was drunk. But the truth of the matter is that he was getting ready to cheat long before it actually happened in each case.

I also know that I was temped during this relationship to cheat with a friend of mine, but when I realized that the innocent flirtations might be leading somewhere I stopped immediately and never did cheat. For both men and women, I think that it comes down to a frame of mind. Do they make excuses to help sweep the decision under the rug, or make conscious decisions about their actions?

If only I could find that person, I totally agree.

Guys who go for girls that already have bfs turn me off. Cheating MM are also turnoffs.

Unfortunately, MM/bfs who are devoted to their wives/gfs are very very schmexy.

hah, do you see my problem?
