I'm an attractive, intelligent, confident woman yet I can't seem to get anything done.

I seem to bury my head in the sand about nearly everything. There are things I have to do (I'm talking from big things like sorting out my career to small things like posting a letter) but I just think 'it can be done later' or 'don't worry its not actually important etc etc

At first I though I was just a massive procrastinator but I don't know anymore... I seem to be just happy doing nothing and not having a life. (Well not exactly 'happy' or I wouldn't be asking for help!) Its like I have no drive for anything (I'm not depressed), my life seems to be just going by and I'm not doing anything. I keep worrying about what I should be doing but then to stop myself worrying I just bury my head in the sand and focus on something else!

Please help before I go crazy!!!!

If you simply have no drive to do a thing..IMO it would sound like you are depressed to some degree. How long have you been feeling this way?

Procrastination/laziness just as motivation/action are borne of habit. I find that I procrastinate the most when I'm overwhelmed by a number of important decisions or tasks that need to be done right. I haven't always felt resourceful, and when I have made efforts in getting advice from others, sometimes it turns out inappropriate for my situation or wrong. So I don't feel confident the next time to find out what I need to know.

Thankfully, I've used the internet for information, and that has made all of the difference.

What I started doing is making to do lists and prioritizing. You get a lot done, then you get to go back to whatever it is you were doing before.

Well you're already making lists, you need to make goals and then take the steps to achieve those goals. Make sure they're attainable goals for you, or you'll procrastinate as you say. Maybe you can start an inner fire once you figure out something that ignites a passion in you.

If you're a confident and intelligent woman, then be confident and intelligent enough to do whatcha gotta do. Therefore making you even more attractive.

Wow...I feel the same way!!

I always procrastinate on EVERYTHING. I've been this way ever since I can remember. Sometimes, we cope with stress/anxiety by simply not doing anything. It's not a good way of coping, but this is what happens to some of us sometimes. Call it a coping mechanism of some sort.

I also know that I suffer from depression off and on. So, maybe you might want to check and see if you might be feeling slightly depressed. I know that when I was really low last year, I couldn't do anything. Everything in my life was disorganized, messy, and out of control. I lost interest in doing things that I used to actually enjoy doing.

I'm better now, but still struggling on some days. I'm at least a little more organized than I was before.

You may want to look into it and see if you may just be down in the dumps. Talking with someone helps. Sometimes we may be bored with our lives too, and that can cause us to not feel like doing anything. Take up a new hobby, do something new and exciting! I dont' know...maybe this might help?

If you feel unmotivated with life try doing little things at first. Set simple stupid little goals and work your way up. Any accomplishment is better than none, it helps. Baby steps. :D
