ohhmyandrea
[VENTING!] Here's my deal. My boyfriend who after a WONDERFUL summer went off to school in another state, is apparently the target of a bunch of nonsense. I was talking to one of my good friends tonight and after telling him how good I believe that being LD is for my boyfriend and I and he got all negative saying that since he didnt know him that he decided to 'investigate.' He said when he did that he was told that my boyfriend 'tells girls what they want to hear' and 'isnt one for commitment' now I'm no genius but I firmly believe that being apart is hard enough without everyone in the world being against us. My boyfriend, while he is incredibly sweet - it doesnt make sense for him to just tell me what I want to hear 500 miles away. and as for commitment - HE IN COLLEGE! I dont think that if he really wasnt one for commitment that he would be doing the whole LDR thing. Right?! My "friend" claimed that sometimes guys in their "male complexes" will keep a girlfriend far away and have one where they are so they can reap the benefits of both. But honestly, I dont see any reapable benefits other than the satisfaction of caring for someone and having someone care for you, when you're 500 miles away. If he does have a girl on campus, dont you think that he would be enjoying those benefits far more than he would from a phone call every night? It just seems like no one is on loves side and I guess this post is more ANGER than anything. I trust my boyfriend. I have faith in my boyfriend and I just think that LDRs are hard enough without the constant pessimistic views of people who have no clue what its like.. Comforting words?
