Touche
I'll agree with that! There is no time in a casino...it's bright and noisy and you could enter at 6pm to play a few slots and next thing you know, it's 5am. Plus, there's the free drinks. Bull. Then you (general) should be single. If you live with/are married you should call your spouse. Hey, I've made tons and tons of mistakes over my lifetime. Who better to know what works and what doesn't than someone who's effed it up enough times over her lifetime?
Star Gazer
I'll agree with that! There is no time in a casino...it's bright and noisy and you could enter at 6pm to play a few slots and next thing you know, it's 5am. Plus, there's the free drinks. Exactly. Time really has no place in Vegas. I really hope LB doesn't let this situation and the naysayers impact her relationship.
Touche
I will attend them, throw them, and have one of my own someday. Therefore, I'm low class and immature. Cool! Cool. To each his/her own. Aren't bachelorette parties when you're over 30 a little silly though? Just asking.
djhall
Still, it ought to count for something that he answered her call right away and was happy to hear from her. If you aren't going to call, then anwering happily when called ought to be something better than not anwering and letting your SO leave a voicemail you answer hours later. Star Gazer
I don't think they're silly, and they involve different things. They're not always Vegas/Bar-like. But it's nice to know what your opinion is of me.

Hey, I've made tons and tons of mistakes over my lifetime. Who better to know what works and what doesn't than someone who's effed it up enough times over her lifetime? Hey, wait a minute...I wasn't advocating the non-calling thing...I'm near divorce over that same issue. I was just commenting on the atmosphere of a casino. It IS different from the real world. JamesM
OK, well I am coming into this thread very late, so apologies. I don't think your BF should be expected to cut the cord from his friends. Sometimes things come up that you may not be 100% cool with, but you have to just suck them in and deal with them. Bachelor parties are one of those things- if your guy has friends, then chances are he will be going to a few in his lifetime. I am not the greatest fan of bachelor(ette) parties etc, however my BFF had hers this weekend, and we all got together to play Wii and we went bowling and other stuff, then we went for dinner drinks and dancing and it was great to see my friends and catch up with them, as I hadn't seen a few of them for over a year. Nobody was interested in talking to other men because we had so much to say to eachother! I didn't call wonderboy all day, and he was cool with that. As I was catching up on this thread, I finally found a post I agreed with. And sb129 and I always don't see eye to eye , but I have to agree with her here completely...except I didn't go to the bachelorette party. I am not a fan of such parties that include strippers. It seems to be a way to cheat a little before the marriage. If I remember how I felt then, the idea of having such a party would have been embarrassing and made me feel guilty. It would have felt as if I was disrespectful to my wife...even if she had given permission. Laurie, hopefully you are still reading this. I do not think you need to worry that your BF is out there attending strip joints with his buddies. Even though I rolled my eyes at the "my phone is going dead" comment, I understand the idea that he too busy and he is with the guys. It really does happen that he is not going to take the time to call you. It is not that he forgot you or that he is cheating (although it may seem that way). He simply is having fun and is "forgetting" about you but not in a bad sense. In his mind, you said you are out with your friends, so you are having as much fun being single for a weekend. He probably thinks you are too busy to take his calls anyway. This in no way diminishes your love for him nor his for you. I know what I said about strip clubs and guys who go to them, and I still stand by that, but based on what I read here, you don't have any conclusive proof that he is going to any. So I think your fears are for naught. Interestingly enough, if I were a guy who WAS cheating, I would actually go out of my way to contact you a few times to keep you reassured...especially if you asked me to. The last thing I would want you to do is call me at a time when I was not in a really good position to take your call. Relax. I think he has been a good boy...guy..or man. (I think I need to see if Webster makes such a fine distinction as has been made on this thread! )
Star Gazer
Oh and SG, stop personalizing everything. Sheesh. None of this was directed at you, k? This issue is LB's, not mine. I was simply disagreeing with your opinion REGARDING her issue (that of his attendance at a bachelor party).

Lishy
I dont think LB should leave him over this, I simply think that he could have called even once!
Lishy
I just talked to his friend who came back tonight from Vegas. He was telling me that it was hard for them to make phone calls because you can't use your cell phones in the casino. He said that he was only able to call his gf once when he went back up to the room for something. Storyrider, I think you are right though, he's still immature and won't be ready for marriage for awhile. If he isn't ready to live with someone, then why did he suggest moving in together? He still managed to make the call LB I really am not saying for you even to have a row with your guy over this, I just think this is showing you that he is sooooooo not ready for marriage and I also believe that this behaviour is what makes you so insecure. I have always believed that you are so insecure with him for good reason. He has many years to grow up, there are not many really mature 26 year old men but because you are so mature yourself, his immaturity stands out a mile! I really think you should not TELL him how you feel, you should SHOW him how it feels! Works every time!
Adunaphel
Had he been anywhere else with his buddies, would you still be upset he didn't call? If you were 100% sure that the bachelor party did not include any stripper (or any member of the opposite sex), would the lack of phone calls be an issue at all?
Vertex
Can someone please summarize these 22 pages?
Vertex
Okay I tried superskimming this thread, so I apologize if I missed anything crucial. But, just going from what I've read: Come on, give the guy a break. He's trying to have a good time with his friends in a way that he likely won't be able to do nearly as often once marriage kicks in. He's sent you text messages. You've even spoken on the phone once or twice. All in the span of a weekend, during a bachelor party. I think, honestly, you are working yourself up more than you need to. He's clearly kept reasonable contact considering the circumstances. If your relationship was as solid as you say, I would not assume that he would be foolish enough to throw everything down the tubes at a strip joint. That's not likely to happen in the least. Please try to relax a bit -- I sense a fair amount of insecurity in your rationale. It's normal to worry a little, but this type of dreading is perhaps excessive and will only cause you grief where it doesn't need to. Things will be okay! Let him have his weekend. Author Lauriebell82
Update: My BF called last night to say goodnight and tell me he loves me. He said he's excited to see me tonight! I'll probably be in bed by the time he comes home though, but we'll be able to spend tommorrow evening together. It was sweet that he called, when I called him earlier he said he would call me and he did.

Your insecurity will be the death of your relationship. I've seen it all too many times. To me it sounds like your boyfriend isn't the only immature person in this relationship. When I posted about it, others in this thread told me I wasn't being insecure and that there was something wrong with my relationship. Honestly I didn't think much of him not calling, I know he is with his friends. I may be insecure, but I am NOT immature.

Honestly I didn't think much of him not calling, I know he is with his friends. I may be insecure, but I am NOT immature. I have and it's the usual overly feminist woman who have control issues and like to keep their men on tight leashes. You note all of your insecurities and insecure women or women with misandrist views only add fuel to your insecurity. He didn't call for you two days? Boo, hoo! It's not the end of the world and he did phone eventually didn't he? So, your insecurity in this thread has been repeatedly foundationless hasn't it? I bet if I was to scroll through your old posts, I'd see a similar sort of trend happening? You need to sort out your insecurity issues, Laurie. If you don't, you will lose your man. He'll only put up with it for so long, before it wears him down and the relationship becomes just another mundane chore.
Krajt
Just one more point, it might be best for you and relationship, if you didn't post every single insecurity you have, because there are some posters on here who will only make you feel worse. Any issues you have, you should speak to your boyfriend about and not strangers who pretend to be your friend on a relationship advice forum.
