The variables and compatibilities are endless! And I do prefer women who are a little more straightforward (though obviously not the extreme of needy, overbearing, etc.). I also know plenty of guys that prefer a challenge. So you are right, the compatibilities are endless. There is probably a guy out there somewhere with the perfect amount of sensitivity for you.
