The Collector
Yes, and he also got his show, Politically Incorrect, cancelled when he made some really offensive cracks about 9/11 (right AFTER 9/11). He mainly got canned for pointing out that calling terrorists who fly planes into buildings 'cowards' was hardly accurate. Asking for rational debate in a time of national hysteria was deemed offensive by people who just wanted to shut him up by any means.

Enema
I saw a preview for this movie as he was a guest recently on The Daily Show. Looks interesting and I think I'll check it out.
Rooster_DAR
Bill Maher had a late-night McLaughlin-groupish talk show called Politically Incorrect than ran for about a decade in the 1990s. He'd bring four guests on, usually of widely disparate views, and they'd hash out some topic. I think he himself is known for having basically libertarian/liberal views (meaning he's about as socially liberal as they come, but does support more limited government in the financial arena). He's an odd guy - he supported Bob Dole in 1996, Ralph Nader in 2000, anyone but GWB in 2004 (=Kerry) and now Barack Obama. Thanks for the briefing. I think I will see this movie, sounds kind of interesting. What really alarms me is how some people tend to base their opinions off of some Hollywood actors ideology without actually researching the facts (Michael Moore for example).
