I don't know what it is about me, but I've always been very fond of sleeping. I could take a nap every day, I could sleep in til about 11 or 12 every day if I could. My husband, when he first met me, thought I had a disorder, which I'm hoping I don't, but I've always been this way. I feel absolutely amazing when I wake up, super energized and ready to go. Just flat out refreshed.

At times this can put me on the grouchy side, for example, when I've worked a 60 hour, 6 day work week and I want to sleep in as much as possible on Sunday, I don't let ANYthing get in my way, I actually look forward to sleep.

Is this weird? Oh well if it is, just would like the opinions of others for the heck of it :p

Enjoy sleeping as much as you can, while you can. As you get older it becomes more difficult to get to sleep and you wake up at least a few times during the night. Pills often do not work and they aren't good for you. I am jealous that you are able to sleep so easily.

If you sleep too much, then your words start to slant over. Unfortunately, it's usually permanent.

The more you sleep, the more sleep you need. Conversely, the less you sleep, the less sleep you need.

Do you ever get a headache from oversleeping? You know, when you sleep more than 12 hours?

I loveee sleep also. Last night I slept for 10 hours, and it really would seem I am depressed or lethargic, but I'm not.. I just love it. Getting enough sleep is crucial for me. I need at least 8 hours a night, or else I cant function. Its funny how my boyfriend will go nonstop all day and then go out at night, getting 5 or less hours of sleep, to wake up early & do it all over again. Hes tired, but if that was me, I'd be dead on the floor before I could even get out the door.

I think its amazing how our bodies can adapt to our lifestyles. I am probably so used to getting enough/more than enough sleep at night then when I cant get 8 hours, Its like I am starving.

Sometimes I hate that I love sleeping so much, though... So i guess its bittersweet.

I love sleep too, I used to sleep a lot when I didn't have school. Now I don't sleep at all. I get about 2-3 hours of sleep :S

I think it has to do with our metabolism.

I actually love sleeping too - I can sleep my butt off! I don't think there's anything wrong with liking sleep and you shouldn't be concerned with it unless it becomes overly excessive where it's disruptive in other aspects of your life, daily routines, your health, etc.

OP, how's your sleep cycle on an extended vacation, where there are no time pressures?

If this issue is long-term, thyroid, pituitary and/or hypothalamus could be involved.

If you don't get your "usual" amount of sleep, do you feel alert once awake?
