Hypothetical Situation (?)

Why would you want to abort serial killers and assassins? They could still be a valuable asset to you're country.

In what way could they be useful to 'ones Country' SKS?

Sounds like they would make good soldiers or "assassins"(like you said), believe it or not there is always going to be a need for both. I suppose once we got to that point though, the government would breed its own soldiers instead of relying on people to enlist.

no I think its a silly book you read sounds like nazi talk

A lot has been said so I can understand that you maybe missed the premise of the book. The genetic thing was not the whole intention of the book. The book is about intution as a guide which can protect us from violence. The gene in question was linked to violence. Other characteristic features were not mentioned, such as a talent for music etc..

I see what you mean though.

Such as in the film 'Universal Soldiers'.. Who knows what our governments get up to? They probably already do such things..

I would say that the serial killer can be tamed in some ways if caught early on. For example, the lexicon is where language develops within the brain and if language is not presented to us within the first 10 years then it is near impossible for a child to learn their mother tongue. So I presume that we would be looking at a very short time frame in which to tame the mind of a serial killer to do our bidding - this is if nurture is to win over nature.

I have come to the conclusion that mapping the genetics of serial killers and the like is probably not going to come out into mainstream knowledge because it would cause too much havoc. If we were able to somehow erradicate violence from the human race there would not be a great need for governments.

I cant see officals wanting to give up their positions so readily.

The human species will die off. Anger, hate and subsequent violence are as much a driving force in humans as love. Remove that and you have a species which is indifferent about its own survival.

I could not have said it better myself, Disgracian! If there is one thing that terrifies me above all else, it is finding myself in a position where my fate is in the hands of someone that doesn't even know who I am.

With all due respect, your fate IS in the hands many times of those who have no clue who you are.

It starts with your boss up to your president.

Yet compared to much of the past, we have lots of freedom.

Eve, I personally fear that such a day will be coming. It may be quicker than we believe. The world really has no concern about human life unless it is their own or a close relative. And since we feel that human life in the womb ranks lower than one's personal desires...and since many want to use human embryos as a way to cure other humans, then it is hard to be surprised that one day we will abort babies based on the potential or lack of potential that they carry.
