Heidi2
Is there anyone out their whom is like me and can't bare to stand waking up in the early mornings of say like 5-6am?? Well, do to the fact that school has yet started up again, I've had to do just that. Stopping for coffee has helped some.. But staying attentive for my 8'oclock spanish class has been a challenge thus far. Does anyone have any suggestions on this agenda??
quankanne
a nice cold shower to get the circulation going! I've also heard of people leaving their contacts in the refrigerator overnight (in their proper storage case, of course!) and doing their exercise in the morning. dumb question time, but why are you getting up so early, anyway? Whenever I was stuck with an early class in college, I slept in until about 1/2 an hour before I was due on campus ... and I still do now that I work (thank goodness for living only a couple of miles from my job). Of course I made sure everything was ready the night before so I could just grab my stuff and go.

HokeyReligions
I am NOT a morning person. NOT at all. I hate mornings. I get up at 4:30 so I can take care of my family and get to work at 7:00. I don't go to bed 'till 12 or 1:00am sometimes. I had a meeting this morning at 7:00 so I had to come in a little earlier. Last night I worked late. Coffee is my friend! The alarm clock is across the room so I have to physically get up to turn it off. Have things prepared the night before. Have an instant breakfast or energy bar that you can eat while driving in. Take vitamins. Eat well and exercise - the healthier you are the easier it will be.
moimeme
You need to be sure you're getting enough sleep for starters. I hate early morning waking. I had a job once where I had to be on the bus at 6:30 AM. It was an hour ride so I'd sit at the very back (the bus never filled up) and fall asleep for the hour.
ziggue
Put your alarm clock far away enough from your bed so you have to walk to it so you can turn it off. I do that and it works. That's one thing that will get you out of bed straight away especially if the volume is on pretty loud. I like having an hour to myself before I go out for the day to relax and get ready so I am not in a big mad rush before I leave the house as well. Try drinking lots of caffeine and having a good shower. They are also other ideas that will get you up.
Sapphire
If you can get your bum outta bed at 5:00 am...you are kick ass! I normally roll outta bed at noon or 1pm. It sucks though cause I am currently unemployed, but next month I start CNA training. That means I have to get up at 5 am and be at work at 6:45am. I also thought of this...if you can avoid caffine and do a 15 min workout (i.e aerobics) instead, it would be more benefical to you whereas caffine isn't all that good for ya. ~Dana~

Sapphire
I love Red Bull. It is good with vodka. I also found that I shouldn't drink the stuff straight after 5pm or I will be up all night.
Author Heidi2
Hey you guys!! Thanks for the recent inquiries of what to/not do upon staying or at least trying to stay awake in those 'early' mornings.. Well, it's been a near month now since I originally posted this thread.. And, all considering.. I've been able to get up & motivated, etc. with not so much hastle. The only thing that seems to be getting bad... is the traffic.. I mean, 'yeah' I do for one live in a congested urban area--- Phillie in the south west, NYC-- on the NEast of me, etc. It just seems like every day.. the traffic seems to expand.. (maybe it's just me). Also, a problem could pose.. once the 'clocks' move back.. in a month or so from now.. But, that's just another 'thing' that will take getting adjusted to..
