lnichols
Not to say you (or anyone) should do this, but I know a woman who had stretch marks on her stomach really bad ( or at least she thought). Anyway, she had FLAMES tatooed on her stomach to cover them up. Creative, yes. Long lasting - OH yea! Smart, wellll. We called her "Firehouse" after that. No kidding! Flames starting at her belt line (I am not interested in knowing exactly where they started) and extinding up her abdomen to under her breasts.
yoeh
I learn it from a mother that's 36, and she has absolutely no stretchmark and her skin is perfect, what's the secret? She told me before she got pregnant, or at least right after she knew she was pregnant, she starts putting on lotions or cream or whatever that people use to reduce strectch mark, but all over the body not just the tummy, she did that EVERYDAY until she bares her child! Also, she takes grapeseed extract or sth everyday, that helps with aging skin too! I personally have some over my hips and i dunno even know how i get them cuz I"m not even anywhere near chubby! moimeme
Well look out. I got flamed to death for daring to post that. How should I know that so many women have the things? I don't spend my time gazing at naked females.
Merin
Hmm.. I had 2 Kiddo's and never got stretch marks... BUT My Mom (Who is also little) never got stretch marks when she was pregnant with my sister and I... AND My Sister who also has 2 Kid's didn't get them either... Must be from taking my daily dose of "Genetics" LOL I dunno... My EXBF had stretch marks on his back and they didn't bother me at all, but he hated them... As far as I know there isn't a home remedy to get rid of stretch marks...

beesknees
whatever you do, don't waste your money on mederma. i spent $23 on a tiny little tube, and it didn't do anything. i find that moisturizing with vitamin E helps a little, and my marks are fading with time just by themselves. i don't have the red ones though- they're white on white. Lonestar
Some women get stretch marks during pregnancy and others don't. It's not what you put on your body during pregnancy either that determines whether or not you get them, although it can help decrease it. You get them if it's hereditary, and that's the bottom line. There is only one sure fire way to get rid of them or reduce them up to 80% and that's with laser treatments. Currently the lasers are only available in CA and NYC, but I suspect that as more studies are done using laser, doctors around the world will start investing in them. It's a major money maker that will probably cost a patient up to $1000 per treatment with about 8 treatments needed. I did a ton of research on this and even went to NYC to a major laser center for a consult. I was asked to be part of a free research study, but couldn't get there on the days they were doing it. I wasn't happy at all I had to bail out, seeing the treatment was gonna cost me nothing. Oh well, I trust there are many doctors working on the removal of stretchmarks and something will be available to all of us (given you have money) within a few years. Start saving. Kat
Some may call me brave, others may call me stupid. They used to all be purple. Now you can notice them, but not unless you look closely and for longer than a glance. They are part of who I am

Angel86
Ok i can recommend a few things to everyone. If I was you I would try the home remedy first because its like laser but at a fraction of the price and you can do it from the comfort of your own home the website is as above. If the home remedy doesn’t work for you then try laser. There are also other things that i can recommend but they dont offer it in all of the states Macrodermabrasion, coolbeam laser and a special massage called Lymphatic Drainage Massage (which im sure you could find anywhere) Hope this helps people! This_Too_Shall_Pass
I read in a beauty magazine (or something) that there's actually a proven topical cream called Strivectin D. The cream was advertised as an anti-wrinkle cream, and the ad went like this like this - "If it can work on stretchmarks, it can work on your wrinkles too".... And from what little I've read about medicines and stuff, Strivectin-D is originally for stretchmarks or scarring. More info will be available on the internet, I think. x__TRAGiC-TEEN
I've read many of these websites on stretch marks and for the most part it disapoints me and makes me very ashamed that i cannot get rid of these awful marks. I have them in various areas, they are not big, they are pretty small but are massively clumed together....it's really hard knowing that i am probally the only one in my grade with them. I can't even wear dresses due to exposure of them... i just wish they would go away. My father doesn't understand and would not under any circumstances suuport me with money for surgery or laser treatment....I use palmer's cocoa butter for stretch marks, it`s clinicaly proven to reduce and prevent them but I am not sure what to expect, its so discouraging to hear that these suckers are here to stay. I'm not that fat either, but i have gained a couple pounds in a short period of time, I think that might be it. But please anyone if you have a suggestion or anything that would help me then please email me at [email protected]. Thanks a bunch.

Melissa, Florida
I have stretchmarks too, they are on my stomach around my belly button and they go all the way from my bellybutton to and around my side and they stop before they reach my back. I have them on my upper thighs, just a few that are really visible and I have them right above my but crack, they look like on of those tattoos that everyone gets above their butt. But, anyways I have no hope that there is any kinda cure, I just wanted to know if there was seriously something wrong with me. I had my one and only child when I was 18 and I got stretch marks from it. Well, ever since I have had the stretch marks it seems if all I see when I look in the mirror is them. They are so ugly, and hurts looking at them. An anytime that I have been intimate before and even now with my husband, all I can really think about is how ugly they look and he is probably being turned off by them or whatever. Now in the past two months or so my husband hasn't really been intiating intimacy and he has been looking at porn a lot more than usual on the internet. I have gotten even more secure about my stretch marks and also my weight. I am on a crash diet right now but, anyways its nice to hear that I am not the only one who feels the same way about them. It just seemed as if not many people had stretch marks. I guess since I never see other womens bodies unless they are some sluts on a website that my significant other is looking at. Guest
You can see a dermatologist, and if the stretch marks are relatively new (still reddish/purplish), they can prescribe you Retin-A which will help the stretch marks to fade quicker and make them less noticable.
