iwanttolive
I appreciate my guy's advice, but urrrrgghh, he's so blunt n insensitive! I shared with him that i wanted to shed off some kgs and plan to diet n hit the treadmill thrice a week. He said "OMG!! You're doing it all wrong! You should not go on a treadmill, you'll only be exercising your legs and your calf is big enough! You should go for aerobic class instead! Hey, i thought you should know this better than me!" Am i being petty here? Or do i have reason to be annoyed??? Should I just let this matter pass?? OMG...
BrooklynBridge
Is it bothering you because it's true? Some people are honest and blunt to a fault...

Gremio
Based on your story, he is an idiot. One of the biggest fallacies is that a woman will get bigger from lifting small weights. All it does it give you a good workout, speed your metabolism, and burn fat.
Ruby Slippers
Yeah, he's wrong. Any cardio that gets your heart rate up burns fat, and you can't choose which spots to subtract fat from. The important thing is to choose a cardio activity that you enjoy and will stick with. I have found that some men are just terrible at being supportive in the right ways, and they end up saying dumb things like your boyfriend said. You probably wanted to hear something like, "Sounds like a plan, honey. You go!", but instead he had to put in his two cents. I think they THINK they're being helpful and aren't trying to hurt your feelings. I'd try to brush it off, but ask him to be a little more supportive and sensitive in the future.
