moimeme
You'd have to ask your religious leader. Some religions teach that it is; others don't. Medically, there's nothing wrong with it and it can be good for you.
Reckless
Are you very religious? It seems unusual to ask the question in terms of sin. If you are religious the bible does speak about 'deadening' or 'taking control' of your body members(sexual organs). This isn't refering to self mutulation or anything gross like that, simply that sexual expression is biblically to be only within the marriage union and by implication WITH your partner. It also councils against unrestrained sexual appetite, I guess meaning that, like eating you would exercise a measure of self control sexually. The bible doesn't mention masturbation directly. Quite frankly, talking in terms of 'sin' could lead you to undue guilt over something (Christian or not) we've probably all done at one time or other and although masturbation can become addictive and very easily and slip out of control if not 'checked' it is not in the scheme of things very serious. Don't get all bent out of shape about it, but if it does bother you maybe you can just ask for your girl to give you a helping 'hand' from time to time and go play tennis or something when she can't.... Tony T
Masturbation would only be a sin if you perceived it as such. Practices which do not fall in the mainstream of sinful acts are a matter of conscience. If you're conscience says it's wrong, then go with that feeling. Then again, something can be wrong and not be a sin...like when I biggie size my order at Wendy's. If doing something is making you feel guilty, stop doing it...or seek counselling to overcome your guilt feelings.
quankanne
according to Father Guido Sarducci, masturbation IS a sin, but a penny sin in comparison to stuff like fornication and adultery. It would take a lot of monkey-spanking to equal one episode of adultery! home.earthlink.net/~sarasohn/aboutgs.html
