I've been together for a year now with my boyfriend, and somethings are just not--- let's say, normal perhaps? His moods can be change rapidly, from being sweet and affectionate to cold and distant faster than a race car. But what I've noticed is, that, when ever I bring up the subject of my friends (ALL female.. He's pretty much let me know he's uncomfortable with me having male friends.) things turn sour. A few days ago, I planned to go have a bite to eat with one of my friends (female). The second I told him that, he went from super affectionate, to barely letting my touch him, and used a cold tone of voice. Needless to say I was shocked. He said I was just being "used" by this one friend, so she can vent her stress on me.. But isn't that partially what friends are there for? To help each other out on bad days sometimes? After that, I planned on giving my other girlfriend a call the next day. As soon as the time approached that I was going to phone her, he pretty much made the point he wanted the phone... Even though I had told him, at that time I wanted to talk with my friend. I feel like I'm running around in a giant circle.. He tells me I should go out and do things- but sometimes when I plan on going out with my girlfriends, he turns super sour towards me. I don't know what to do. It seems like he definitely prefers me to be inside the house most of my time. It's slowly driving me mental. And I won't lie- He has displayed some rather controlling things before.. But it cooled down, and now this had to come up. Anything would be helpful at this point. I just want to understand what is going on in his head... Thanks in advance!! goodmorningtowakeup Posted December 11, 2008 Share Posted December 11, 2008 maybe i know the type...it makes him jealous cause he doenst have a lot of friends....so he cant relate to you hanging with peeps just chilling...im the same way and thats the only reason why i was jealous about her friends...although she did talk to several guys in different forms...anyways id sit down with him and say, " honey bunny i think it would be so awesome if you got a few pals...go get a drink with them, go do something cool with someone other than me for a change, that way we can relate better." either that or you cant control me so if you cant deal with me having friends then blow that noise, son...PEACE... DONT LET IT GET TO THAT POINT UNLESS HES TOTALLY WHACK about it tho...tell him ahead of time to choose his words wisely... trust me, guys like that like to give up the power once in awhile k?
