MN randomguy
Alright, I'll throw my hat into the ring. I believe that Jesus followed the law perfectly. That is what made him able to atone for the sins of the world. Leviticus 18:22 NIV translation Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable. Of course this is a harsh verse. Later in the book the law requires that this person be put to death. The wages for any sin is death however. We have all committed sins. So, This is not an excuse for homophobia. All have a part of their life God finds detestible Jesus was against the religious establishment of his time. They did not like him because he befriended prostitutes, tax collectors and generally what the pious religious establishment thought of as the scum of society for not following the law. I would imagine that although Jesus could not have engaged in homosexual acts he almost assuredly associated closely with homosexuals and befriended many. You know, in the last supper painting, James seems a little effeminate.

Diamonds&Rust
I believe that Jesus followed the law perfectly. The Sanhedrin would disagree. http://www.loveshack.org/forums/showpost.php?p=198822&postcount=14 Check that out for some other "detestable" abominations
Storyrider
One of the things I love about Catholicism is its intuitive understanding of the relationship between beauty and sorrow /between beauty and pain. The Catholic church has never shyed away from being sensual and celebrating the senses which are the essence of life and that is why artistic beauty has such importance in Catholic tradition. I've been thinking about this post and Christmas. I believe religions tell different stories about humanity, emphasizing different truths. Christianity works very well because it dramatizes one of the main things about humans: that we all do sh*tty things, but yet we all deserve love.
georgehutton
If Jesus was man and was straight, he was temped and didn't give in. If Jesus was man and gay, he was tempted and didn't give in. the question would be which one would provide more temptation? If he was gay, and there were few gays around to be tempted by, then it would seem that a bigger temptation to avoid would be being straight and having girls wash your feet with perfume and not give in to the lust. Of course if he was a man, then as a man he couldn't be pansexual or anything like that other than men were at the time, otherwise he wouldn't have been fully human and understand human suffering and temptation like he supposedly wanted to. desertmoon
good point, but his dad did end up demanding his crucifixion which makes one wonder about their relationship LOL!!! roxy_1980
It has been supposed that all of Jesus' sexuality was omitted. Many theologists have hypothesized that Jesus was in a relationship with Mary Magdeline. Maybe married, maybe not. (Before you get up on your high horse, marriage wasn't even a sacrament until the 14th century, so relax.) Of course you will never read about that, will you? Any sexuality expressed by Jesus in any way has probably been suppressed. So you'll never know for sure. But here's a thought: How would feel about the possibility that Jesus may have married a prostitute?
