longlegzs80
Today, Saturday morning, I woke up in a bad mood and it has lasted throughout the day. Not sure what the deal is. Just been so discuraged with myself and I am in a rut. I guess this is my way of blowing off steam. I work everyday of the week in a costumer service job dealing with rude people, and since this job I have been stressed out and irritated. What can I do about it? I don't want to quit because I don't have a job in my field yet to fall on. Sure that is no excuse, but I have been just so discusted with myself. WEll, that is it I guess. Okay, another thing. I am about to join the gym to I guess better myself, and hopefully meet some positive people. But my question is is does going to the gym better your attitude? I need an attitude adjustment because I have been in a rut for along time and it needs to end. Can anyone help me out. Thanks for listening. ----SARAH
Curt Posted September 14, 2003 Moderators Share Posted September 14, 2003 Hey Sarah, Don't sweat it, girl! If it helps any, (and I know it won't), I'm feeling f-ing awful too - much the same freakin' way as you are. I've found exercise helps for an hour or so, then .. back to the pit! I'm feeling stagnated and generally P.O.'ed with everything. Maybe it's a crap day generally. Let's hope tomorrow feels better.

I mean yeah, we all have our bad days, etc.. But, when customers have to YELL, SCREAM, & SHOUT that they have 'not returned a movie late', or 'If something is guarenteed, & you don't have it, why would you guarentee something?' Stuff like that is so repitious.. that it not only becomes annoying.. but it can change the page of ones daily routines...
Alchemy
Hiya Sarah, This is just my thought. Perhaps it would be better to look at your job at a different view point. eg you get to meet 'rude people', thats wonderful , your people skills(most important skills on earth) will definately increase as there is challenge with 'rude people'... so you get to find out what works with communication and what doesnt! moimeme
I was a receptionist at a car dealership in my first job. People who were ticked at service, etc. would come in in a bad mood. I decided nobody was going to leave my desk without a smile. I coddled, I listened, sometimes I joked - and I could usually turn their mood around Make it a challenge to yourself to understand why they're angry or frustrated and then to help them feel better. It feels SOOOO good!
