luverly
I'm an American applying to Uni in England for Sep. 2009 entry. My problem is I recently started talking to a guy online in the UK. We're applying to some of the same schools and we have alot of things in common, so that's where it started. We exchanged a few emails and then pretty quickly he asked for my msn. Our first conversation was for about 4 hours and then a few days later the next convo was about 5 hrs. Ever since we started talking on msn he doesn't write emails anymore, except for this week. this week i haven't seen him on msn at all in 4 days, so he wrote me a short email after I had written him saying that he's been busy Christmas shopping and hopes to catch me soon xx and all that. Both of us have only had a couple of relationships and its very rare for me to find someone that can make me smitten so fast. My question is are there any cultural differences between an American girl and a British boy that I should be aware of, so it doesn't create an issue? Are Brit guys more reserved with their feelings? He has told me he likes me quite a bit already Oh and should I be worried that I haven't seen him on msn in like 4 days?
Konfuzion
I am an English man living in America, I dont think there are any significant cultural issues to be concerned with except the rather dry and harsh English sense of humor. If you can get past that you should be golden Lastly, I think being busy this time of year is a valid excuse.. Who isn't plus add the time difference in there.

Joyvke
What's your age and what is his? Also, aren't you still in a relationship? Though already looking for something else while still being together or am I wrong?

Though already looking for something else while still being together or am I wrong? I'm 30, he's 27. I am now single. I broke up with my boyfriend because he pushed me away for too long. I started talking to this guy after I had already realized the relationship with my ex was done. I moved out too and I am already living with my parents until school starts. LikeCharlotte
Awwwww luv... you have until Sept. 2009 to figure it all out! Take it slowly. It's not a big deal that he wasn't online for days. We all get busy. I have one warning... be careful or you will end up like me in six months! I am a silly American girl who loves an English boy (maturity not withstanding). As for cultural differences, yeah, we have them. Apparently I do not speak english. That's about it. Enjoy yourself and start making a list of all those strange words he says.
