Lovelybird
What do you think about this theory--God allows evil because there must be conflict in the world or else we would die of boredom. If the world was only good, there would be no conflict or tension. And humans don't feel human without conflict and tension. I don't think so. It is like a woman who are only familiar with trama and bad treatment, she is addictive to the drama, any decent treatment she might think boredom, but her attitude can be changed. we are like that woman sometimes. that woman is using her energy, but most of them go to negative things, wasted. In perfect sense, pure good is never boring, it is adventure, enthusiasm, satisfying, creative, passionate....
Storyrider
In perfect sense, pure good is never boring, it is adventure, enthusiasm, satisfying, creative, passionate.... True! But how could we have adventure without risk, and how could we have risk if no one was ever hurt?
Lovelybird
True! But how could we have adventure without risk, and how could we have risk if no one was ever hurt? One can risk or adventure without being evil. mistakes maybe Do I have to kill one person in order to know "kill isn't good"? Do I have to cut myself in order to know if it is pain? I guess this come back to surrender to ultimate goodness. Since we human being aren't in a perfect position. why adventure must involve evil? some people define "braveness" as "doing rebeling things", this kind of braveness hurt self and others? True braveness will resist evil no matter what others may say, do good to others like Jesus

It's just funny given all the drama around here lately. Maybe I need to fight with my H. It's too peaceful around here! I laugh but I don't really know about that. Personally peace and no drama makes me happy. I would guess most people would feel that way. But the thing is without ever having experienced conflict and such, how would we ever appreciate the peace and tranquility and joy in our lives? Ok, I see now that others have just expressed similar views. Anyway, Lovelybird, I thought you finished the book, sorry. Keep reading. It's a beautiful book. I cried so much. Storyrider
I didn't have LS in mind, but it did add to the mood. Actually, I wasn't thinking of interpersonal conflict, so much as tension like that required in an interesting story, with rising action and obstacles, etc. I like to think of God as an author. Yes, I understand what you're saying Story. I don't know about God as an author though. I think of him as more of a spectator though. Maybe a guardian of sorts too. You know that would make an interesting thread...how we see God's role.

Geishawhelk
In that case, if you're going to create one, I'd be specific and ask for input solely from those who truly believe God exists. Otherwise I see a shindig free-for-all and a lot of argument. head it, "What do Christians or believers feel God's Role is?" That way, going off-topic is not an option..... The option for a person to shindig exists regardless. Many people here seem to be agnostic anyway so I think we will be ok. I suppose it depends on what the poster wants to do. Geishawhelk
Just an "off-topic" question, Eve..... Why don't you use the 'Quote' facility?
Eve
Just an "off-topic" question, Eve..... Why don't you use the 'Quote' facility? Sometimes I do, sometimes I dont. I would fluctuate between the two methods of posting within the previous forum I belonged to. Plus, I have only recently fixed my account here on 'Loveshack' - with the aid of my children. (Yeah the staff here didnt help one bit) Damn thing was getting on my nerves because I could not quote or even write in paragraphs at all.. So, I may fluctuate..
