Author tobefree
My current girlfriend of over 6 months is a pretty strong believer in Christianity and I am trying to pursue a path in Buddhism. She has her beliefs and I have mine. We often have conversations and have never argued. She agrees that she has no idea that what she believes is real. She admits there is the possibility that she could be totally wrong, but chooses to hold her faith. I see no problem with this. She has never attempted to convert me or push her religion on me (like asking me to go to church with her). Well, you said she was a strong believer on christianity yet she couldn't find her belief was real or not. Doesn't mean that she is not that religious or something? I am not judging your gf anyways, i am just curious. In my case, i think i can label my ex to be "fanatic" who follows closely what the bible tells her and embraces every word that bible says as holy and TOTALLY real. She firmly believes that we human beings and all the other creatures are created by god and accuses me of believing in evolution theory, suggesting that i should believe what she belives. Well, i think i am talking too much and i should stop now. i don't want to bring this topic up anymore as i want to forget about her completely. let the past past away and leave not a trace in my mind about her. I am starting anew looking for love in 2009. In future I will never date chriatian women anymore nor anyone who is religious. Thanks for listening. bye
Lovelybird
fanatic ! Good luck tobefree If God wants me to wait a person, then I wait, I believe it will be a miracle. If God closed a door, I would know that way isn't God's will. if you two are not meant to be, it is the best way you are apart because this would be best for you, she may not be the vessel that God intented to suit you
Author tobefree
It's still tough to be in your position. Simply knowing you aren't right for one another doesn't make a break up easier. I've posted before that I once sat beside a woman on a 4 hour plane ride that brought out her bible and started lecturing me about how I was going to hell for not being a Christian. By the end of the trip I was so angry:mad:. I couldn't imagine being made to feel inferior or unworthy on a daily basis by someone you love. i can feel exactly how you felt in that situation. They are all this common characteristic of trying to "save" us from going to hell. It does really piss me off. Let's say if people being converted to be christians will go to heaven, then what about someone who kills many people yesterday and today he converts to a christian. then will this bastard go to heaven just because he is a christian? CAN??
Lovelybird
Only God knows he can or not I guess depends on how HEARTLY repentant he is, mind you, God knows human's heart, no pretending works in God's kingdom
chris250
i can feel exactly how you felt in that situation. They are all this common characteristic of trying to "save" us from going to hell. It does really piss me off. Let's say if people being converted to be christians will go to heaven, then what about someone who kills many people yesterday and today he converts to a christian. then will this bastard go to heaven just because he is a christian? CAN?? You do know that not all christians believe in hell right? I am one of those who believes that everybody is going to heaven. I guess you could say I am a universalist. I personally feel that universalism is a one size fits all gospel. It puts everyone on an equal plane. It's the only belief system that is totally absent of self righteousness. So I don't go around trying to save or convert anyone to christianity. I do go around informing people that they are already saved and good to go with God and that they are loved unconditionally & accepted. So I say let the hellfire and brimestone christians carry on telling the world that there is a hell. I on the other hand will continue to carry on telling the world that there is NO hell and NO angry god. I tell the world that they are already saved and going to heaven. I give this same message to muslims, buddists, atheists, agnostics, satanists, wiccans, christians of any denomination, jews, etc. It doesn't matter who. God's love is ALL inclusive and the entire human race is one big happy family. So yeah I believe adoph hitler and mother teressa are sitting in the same heaven enjoying one another's company.
