concealer to cover my receeding hairline

Recommended Posts

what kind of concealer is good for a recedding hairline-norwood 3. both my temples are receeding. i do have hair on my crown though

i tried dermmatch but nothing at all, it doesn;t conceal my hairline and i still see baldness. dermmatch is just a paste and paint on ur scalp

i like to grow my bangs too(below my eyebrows)-the dragonball z or anime character look, but it looks dumb when u have the temples which are all bald. i want those to be covered

so what concealer is good to cover my temples and receeding hairline

Forget it.

Nothing that wouldn't look false.

The best thing I can advise you - because a colleague of mine with a hairstyle and hairline like yours had the same situation - is to go really, really short.

It looks a whole lot better.

And it's a Bruce Willis kinda thing:

he's nearly bald, but shaves close and looks great.

joel, either get proper implants or go really short, as suggested by Geish.

There are spray on concealers but anyone coming within a couple of feet of you can see the difference.

There's really nothing wrong with a receding hairline. A lot of women don't care, including myself. I think men are way more paranoid about it than women.

You have three choices....

Rogaine....expensive.

Comb over.....hard to do and still look natural.

Embrace your hair as it is. Ask a hair stylist what is the best way to style your hair so it looks its best.

Unless you have a great hair stylist that can make a comb over look natural, I think your best bet is to choose an hair style that enhances your baldness.

A spray on color or paste might look ok from afar at the crown of someones head if their hair was thinning - but would simply look like painted skin on baldness. At the temples, this painted on look would be amplified and creepy.

I'd say embrace it. Go with what you got.

Totally agree. A boyfriend of mine years ago had a receding hairline and just used to shave it very short. It really suited him and looked far better than the dreaded comb over () that you see some do.

I agree, your best bet is to simply keep it short. I'm rapidly losing my hair, and if I let it get too long, it's much more noticeable.

And what's really annoying is that I thought it was supposed to be determined by your maternal grandfather. In my case, he had a full head of hair until the day he died in his 70s. So much for that theory.

DAMN my high testosterone. :)

Don't try to fake it - you'll just be misrepresentating yourself. I mean, at some point the jig will be up, right? But I don't really understand why this is such a big deal to you. Receding hairlines look nice to me. I can't believe this is an issue with you getting dates.

I feel for you my friend, I have been losing mine for a while now and it's not fun. I keep mine pretty short, #2 on the sides and scissor cut the top. At some point I know I'll go shorter. This week I did get my hair colored for the first time in a long time, the grey was bothering me a bit and having it colored made me feel better. I'm not sure what women think of guys touching up their hair though. But, since I'm in my enjoying singleness mode, I just did it to please myself.

You look fine. You still have lots of hair. I'm a girl, but if I just looked at your picture I wouldn't have noticed your hairline, though I will agree and say I think it would look better shorter.

Please don't use concealer. First of all, I have no idea how that could possibly look normal. Second, as a girl, I'd much rather see a guy with a slightly receding hairline, than a guy who used concealer on his hairline. Seriously.

Your going to have to just roll with it. Do not under any circumstances use concealer to conceal your receding hair....it looks really really fake and creepy when men do that. All of those tricks to cover your hairline really just brings attention to it.
