How to tolerate society?

Recommended Posts

You are one of the most intolerant and self-contradictory people I have ever come across.

You're judgemental, rude, insulting, insensitive and hyper-critical. You always come in and ask questions about situations you then claim you don't care about.

You treat others with contempt and disdain and feel this is not only normal but acceptable (in either case, it isn't) and you take umbrage when others criticise you on it.

Tolerant?

Don't kid yourself.

That's laughable.

haha I hope this was sarcastic or ironic! Money is not the be all and end all of existance. Actually I think money causes more problems than it solves. Some of my friends are so obsessed with making money, they have no life to actually spend it. People work so much they become disconnected from people, from their wives, their kids because they are so focused on money, money, money. I have big dreams for my future. I want to be either a journalist, author, something to do with writing in some manner. But is that for money? No. It's for fulfillment and happiness :) Money is just a demon. We all need it. But when your life becomes money you will lose the truly important things along the way.

It is near impossible to be a writer of any sort these days because of the way it is all centralized, marketed and produced. One entertainer or writer can service millions of people.

You could easily end up as someones secretary who also has a few degree's in English working long hours for low pay. You might as well try and do something that will pay the bills then you can spend more quality time witgh the family instead of working all the time.

Heh... you're female you'll probably just get some easy office job and get your husband to pay the bills. Zero accountability.

Main Entry:

1con·tra·dic·to·ry

Pronunciation:

\ˌkän-trə-ˈdik-t(ə-)rē\

Function:

noun

Inflected Form(s):

plural con·tra·dic·to·ries

Date:

14th century

: a proposition so related to another that if either of the two is true the other is false and if either is false the other must be true

----

Can you understand that? That's webster. You know the guy that made the dictionary?

Going back and forth is accepting that both is true. You can't really argue both sides, because "arguing" one is denying the other. Black and White can co-exist. But black is not white, and the opposite is true, but there is GREY. A combination of how both is related with giving and taking.

If you want to debate, that dichotomies are not always a good context, than you shouldn't argue in dichotomies to begin with.

issue? just a point I was making.

The thing with making money, and surviving is we use money to buy everything we need, we don't go do a lot of it ourselves. Prices are rising, and so is inflation, so investing more time to keep up with the economy in work is sometimes a choice you have to make. If you do what you love, its easier to not label that as "work". You're still doing it for money, just killing 2 birds with one stone.

Actually i've got my own dreams and ambitions that go beyond leeching off of another human being thankyou very much. And actually so do most women - they give up careers to be mothers, not just to their children...but often to their husbands...who usually are the biggest children of all.

He was winding you up.

Yes, as I said I was 'playing a game' with him, as he was with me. And you can never tell when a speck of truth integrates itself into a joke or a game.

You know, having such a negative perception of the world must surely taint your everyday life.

A more positive outlook could do wonders for your everyday enjoyment of life. You only have one- you may as well make the most of it.

It does definately taint life yes. I'm not sure why my perception of life is so negative. I've suffered with anxiety and depression and I think slowly but surely i've just replaced my rose-tinted glasses with darker ones. It is hard to change your perception though. It is a long, LONG process.
