I cannot wake up for school

i cannot wake up for school,im in the 9th grade and i have tried everything sleeping pills,tea,ect and i cant get to school befor 12:30 becuase i dont sleep at night i dont have insomnia becuase occasionly i get to sleep at like 3 am but mostly its 6 i have no clue wut to do im being threatend by the princeipal of my school i exercise alot so i know its not pent up energy or stuff like that i just dont know wut to do...the school is gunna file a chins against me soon :(

The only way I know to fix your situation is to get someone to force you out of bed every day a 6AM for one month.Trust me, you'll sleep if you are in the habit of getting up at 6 everyday. The reason you can't sleep at night is because you sleep all morning. It's a vicious cycle.

Doctors and scientists have known for a while that teenagers have a different sleep pattern than children and adults. Check out this article

One possible solution might be to get one of those lights that come on gradually on a timer, slowly filling the room with more light -- replicating the effect of dawn and sunrise to help your body adjust. But that's only if you're getting up before dawn.

 

You might want to do a little research into this. Maybe clinicians have come up with more suggestions to help teens who have to get up early for school.

 

Good luck and .... WAKE UP!! (ha ha, sorry, I hate getting up early too. I sneeze a lot if I have to get up before my body wants to. very strange)

Also, Deke - insomnia doesn't mean that you don't sleep at all. Just having a hard time getting to sleep at night means you could have insomnia. Have you talked to your parents about it? Maybe a trip to the doctor would be good to try to figure out exactly what the problem is.

 

But Clancy is right - if you sleep till noon, then of course you won't be able to get to sleep at night. Also, make sure you don't take any naps during the day. You have to figure out a way to change your sleep cycle. It CAN be done. Good luck.
