KikiW
I have never been terribly fond of the holiday, but this is the first time I will be in an LDR during Valentine's Day and he's already asked what I would like to do. I would like to send him a little care package, but preferrably not the standard chocolates and Hallmark card. What kind of plans do you all have in the works?
Squirtal
There is a company called Hotel Chocolat..its amazing..you can send Champagne truffles and champagne and all sorts of chocolate. The only thing is I'm not sure if its limited to Just the UK and Ireland or not. But worth looking into as its not overly expensive and is scrummy. I'm just going for a nice meal this year and doing cards..Christmas wiped us both out on the present front. And cards mean the world if they have the right words in them. Lexi008
I'm not overly fond of the holiday either The way it has worked out for me so far is that I've never had a SO on Valentine's Day before. I've had plently of crushes and liked someone on the holiday (of course) but never been official with anyone on the date. This year is a little different. I have a friend back home, well, he's a bit more than a friend, but I still can't spend it with him since I'm away at college. We aren't officially dating anyway, even though I really want to start a LDR with him. I DO want to send him something sweet, but I'm stumped as for what? Not likes chocolates or corny cards, but... idk, maybe I'll make something so it's a bit more personal.
Island Girl
I am not planning anything. I am just crossing my fingers that his interview will be done by then although I think it is 30 days from notification and we don't have that yet... In the past, we have done care boxes and cards. One thing that ALWAYS happens. He calls me on mine and I call him on his. We do make sure we are the first person the other speaks to that day. We've found it makes it easier when you are out and about and see all the couples and gifts, etc. around all day because we have already said our loving words to each other. Cora
No plans so far. This is my first Valentines Day in my LDR with him. Actually this is my first Valentines Day in my 26 years that I actually have someone i'm in love with LOL so i'm not used to this fuss. As long as I get to hear his voice that day I'll be good. If not I'll live I guess lol.
Eilonwy
We usually send each other a small present. Nothing expensive! This time I decided not to buy something, but "make" something. After his last visit, I started to write a postcard to him daily, but did not send them. Each card contains at least one thing I like about him (plus random stuff that I felt like writing), and it will be a month when I send them to him... so he'll get 30 cards and 30+ reasons why I love him. I have no idea what he'll think of that... but we'll see.

Also the hand written touch -- it makes a huge difference to hold something that is hand written. I remember that from letters. He's going to love them!
Rollercoasterr
He's going to come see me some time in Feb, so instead of sending him his care package we've opted to exchange valentines day stuff when he's here. I'm making him a box that has all kinds of candy, a card, and something else in it(I'm not sure what yet). But here's the cute part. Instead of using that red and pink tissue papery stuff to line the box, I've started making a list of the reasons and things I love about him on pink paper, and cutting them out one by one to put in the box. I made about 300 today, and I've still got many more to go. But don't worry, I'm no where near close to running out of reasons why I love this man!

Author KikiW
Ok, I decided to create a "bento box o' love" for my sweetie, which is sounding way cornier than I think it really is. I introduced my LDR to sushi a few months ago. He's from Alabama, never tried it before. Discovered he LOVED it, and has been eager to try new sushi rolls now So I decided to go with an eastern-themed Valentine's Day gift. Found a large bento box at an asian market near me. Bought a pair of chopsticks that match it (oh I was so proud of him for learning how to use and enjoying chopsticks!). Also found a matching soup spoon since he enjoyed miso. Now I am trying to find small, special items to go in each of the bento box sections. I found a one-use sample of specialty coffee, I have a collection of good candies for another. I may go get his favorite liquor in the small shot-size bottles for another. I may just fill the rest with notes to him. I really hope he likes it We'll find out in 10 days We're planning on having dinner on Skype together, with lit candles and everything and I will have him open the box then
Jenny123
Single so avoiding restaurants with friends or people wil assume i'm a lesbian and couples everywhere would put me in a depression. Ha ha! This sounds really sad but my my dog is coming home next week, haven't seen him since October! We'll watch DVD'S, contact all my single gals, hang out with my sis and of course eat chocolate!! I used to be fun really!! Happy Valentines day everyonex
