Need to DROP 20lbs in ONE MONTH.. Is it possible?

calories in = calories out.

 

unused calories are stored as fat.

 

Foods which can be converted into usable energy quickly are best.

Foods which require extra calories to be converted into enery are even better! (such as celery)

Calorie deficit is the name of the game, and avoiding having extra calories lying around

when your body goes into fat storing mode is the way around it.

 

Regardless, we're arguing over useless details. If you eat sensibly and exercise you will lose weight

it just may not be as dramatic.

Firstly, people shouldn't argue over differences of OPINIONS...because we all have our differences. Just listen to one another's different opinions, you don't have to do it, stick to your own method, just relate.

But, I do have to admit that I agree with Moimeme, because God said that He made all things, and all things were GOOD. So, Carbs are to be eaten..if desired..but in MODERATION. Best carbs are the complex..such as whole wheat, brown rice, fruit. Eat Simple carbs like candy, pizza...Only when it's splurge time.

Moderation is key*.

Excess food, out of any food group, will cause obesity. So, eat from every food group, but do so moderately.

Yes, some people think that eating late causes obesity, but I think that it's alright to eat late..only if it's in moderation and nothing heavy. Because our metabolism do slow up at nights, while we're resting, not busy doing things.

*Drinking water is key, and EXERCISE..which works off excess calories.

Stay away from junk food and lots of sugars and fats, for weightloss. Do eat lots of fruit, which gives us energy without the calories (like apples, oranges, peaches..etc).

Go for low-fat, b/c it's *key to a healthy heart/cholesterol level.

Lots of people believe in low or no carb diets and they work for many people but also make prolly just as many sick from the diet. I know one person who is on a carb diet and has experienced no side effects and another who felt sick from lack of carbs and had to quit the diet.

 

Essentially, eat way way more. Healthy snacks, grains, fruits, leaner meats, less empty calories and excercise. The energy needed to heal the broken muscle tissue is taken from somewhere and some of it is supplied by your fat storage. You simply cannot lose weight and keep it off without exercise and remain healthy.

 

I don't know if I dropped 20 lbs in one month but I sure came close.

 

My routine:

 

4:30 AM, workout for 30 - 45 minutes, heaviest weights I could handle for 8 - 10 reps (a good mix of strenght training and cardio as 3 - 4 reps does not get your heart beating fast enough). Also, do not rest for more than one minute between sets, 30 seconds is ideal.

 

Have breakfast.

 

6:00 AM, ride my bike to work.

 

Work the day, eat whatever the hell I wanted, even fast food didn't matter. I usually packed a couple of sandwiches and a 1/2 litre of milk.

 

After work, ride bike home and relax till bedtime.

 

I also played squash 1 - 3 times per week. By the time 1 month had gone by, I was able to cut the time it took me to mountain bike up one of our local ski hills from 1 hr 15 mins to just under 1 hr. Nobody could keep up with me.

 

Plus, working out in the morning is hard at first but you do get used to it. The rest of the day is like an adrenaline shot to your veins.

 

You must be committed tho.

Well the adkins diet worked for me. You can only eat like up too 30 carbs a day. Just stuff like chicken , steaks , green beans , hot dogs , and eggs just stuff like that you mostly just can't have bread and snacks stuff if I went strictly on it like didn't cheat and would exercise everyday like just walk for like 3 miles and do a couple of sit ups and walk on the tread mill for about 20 mins I would lose 4 lbs a week. That was a good diet for me. I'm going back on it today I did it like last year and lost about 20 lbs but then I got sick of it after the 1st month so I went off of it and went back to my old eating habits and gained it back. But I'm starting back on it and I'm gonna try to keep it off. But that would probaly do it for you.

I've been reading these replies, and as logical as they may at first appear - believe me, I know first hand - there's absolutely no reason to think that because they support themselves with cautious advice from the medical profession and numbers galore that they posess any useful information for you.

 

First off, I here lots of people telling you you probably look great at 130 for your height. The thing is, unless you FEEL good about the way you look, your goal is to lose weight, not hear how you should change your goals and whatnot from people who probably don't know anything about your situation. When you log off your computer, you'll have to live with your body, and your appeal alone - and they won't be there to enter your hubby's mind and goad him into liking you when the time comes. To imagine looks will play no part in his attraction, or that they cannot drastically change a first impression, is naiive advice to give at best, down right malicious at worst. You can fight reality all you want, but thin is in, as I am sure you are well aware considering the nature of your question and the work you are willing to put forth.

 

Secondly, anyone who says losing 20lbs in a month is impossible should really modify that statement to say: "in my experience." Because I lost 25 lbs in one month, and no my friends, I don't carry 25 lbs of water weight, and I started off at 145. So please excuse me if I laugh at your watered down suggestions that real weightloss in a short ammount of time is impossible. It's possible: I did it.

 

But yes, it involves pain. Lots of it. I ran 6 miles a day at speed 7.5 on the treadmill. Then, I did weightlifting, crunchies, leg raises, Tae Bo and dancing every spare moment I had. I ate 3 eggs a day, and some celery when I really couldn't take it. Yes I was dizzy, yes I wanted to give up many times, yes I realize that there is a danger to health doing this. But you know what, I decided when I went into this, this is important to me, and I'm putting everything on the line for this. And I can relate very well to you because I did this also for a meeting with a man I loved.

 

It took me 31 days, so technically, I guess depending on the month you are in, it may be slightly over a month.

 

I would reccomended this program to all my friends. It is hard as hell, but the rewards...you would not believe them. People DO treat you differently. A LOT differently. The way you perceive yourself and your ability to cope with things changes. Confidence you never knew you had appears.

 

People who are so concerned for your health (strangers, mind you) do not know what it is like to have such a difference. Chances are they are born thin or are overweight and unambitious. Don't be like them.

 

Of course, don't continue this over a month or you'll die. But certainly don't settle for mediocrity because someone told you to.

 

The choice is yours. I pray it works to your best advantage.

Im sorry to have to say this,but u guys are wrong. how u see urself is how

 

u feel and if u dont like whut u see in the mirror do something about it! and stop feeling sorry 4 urself.oh im miserable!! WHO CARES! deep down inside we all do it to look good and thats a fact!

 

to get there we have to give up our evereday pleusures if u are not willing to do that then dont complaint!!!
