Author nana yaw II
I can assure you that society may say 'be yourself' out of one side of its mouth, but I assure you that it is saying anything but out of the other side. Why would there be so many 'self improvement' books/media? So many 'how to get a man/woman' books/media? It is a matter of "be yourself, but change completely to get what you want". Be yourself might be warm and fuzzy, but offering a chance to 'change' is what makes the money. You can bet on that. society says be yourself since a person is happy if they act in accordance with their own nature.
Author nana yaw II
Showing as much sense and consistency as usual, I see. lol.. is anybody 100% consistent?
Geishawhelk
LucreziaBorgia, please, a word to the wise: This poster, is a Troll. It delights in posting absolutely anything it wants - the more inane, meaningless ansd contradictory the better - just to get peoiple riled up and arguing. It doesn't care a whit, about the topic, it makes questions up as it goes along. It has absolutely no interest in the topic it posts, it does it just for its own amusement. Hav a look at a couple of other threads, and you'll see what I mean. Many of us have put it on ignore, because the way to encourage a parasitic troll is to keep feeding it. Please - for your own well-being - leave this troll to its own devices. Like misteltoe on a branch, if we cut off the 'food supply' it will die off. It's a juvenile, 12-year-old geeky little troublemaker. 12. Why engage with a 12-year-old on issues it knows absolutely nothing about.....?
Author nana yaw II
LOL. I'm not 12. I'm 25.
Els
The need to append 50% of your posts with 'lol' makes you appear otherwise.
Author nana yaw II
so expressing humor is a bad thing? additionally, does expressing humorous feelings denote immaturity? OK, so if this is the case, should all adults never laugh, or convey a jolly/jocular side? And people here say it's me who isn't balanced?
anne1707
And people here say it's me who isn't balanced? I think I'll go with the majority vote on this one.

I don't think i'm superior to anybody. I don't hate fat people. I like to go around message boards and post stuff for fun. It's the internet, so who cares really? lol.... bye all... Meaplus3
People kind of say it's sin to change oneself, but why? It's no different to anything else one can do to improve their life. Who would say improving one's life is bad? I'm not sure just who would say that because improvement is a positive thing so it's sort of silly to knock a positive. I think over all, it's most important to be happy with ones self, because if one is not happy with who they are then their not going to be very happy with life in general. Mea:)
Geishawhelk
Mea, it's 12. 12. It doesn't understand words like this. You're blinding it with logic, so it will now come back in and pose a thick-headed, inane, futile, useless question which will be impossible to answer, because it gives a flying fruck. Island Girl
people despise loners. this is just a fact. It's true. When I see a person alone, say - at Starbucks - just sitting there like they are entitled to, I throw my coffee on them. Geez I always end up spending $20 for one cup of coffee that I finally get to drink! Stupid loners.

Geishawhelk
It's true. When I see a person alone, say - at Starbucks - just sitting there like they are entitled to, I throw my coffee on them. Geez I always end up spending $20 for one cup of coffee that I finally get to drink! Stupid loners. Oh that was you, was it? There I am, minding my own business, talking to my imaginary friend (who's giving me the "It's not you, it's me" talk ) when suddenly, out of nowhere, this Hawaiian Vamp, with the long black hair and hoola-hoola skirt, comes running over, hurls her coffee at me, yelling - "Hey, loner! this cost me 20 bucks, have a coffee on me!!" And I replied - "I think you'll find the coffee's on me....."
wierdmunky
You obviously have never heard of any success stories. And society says it's a sin to change yourself? how would they know. You'd be be completely different anyway. There was is lossssssserrrrrr kid in high school. I barely knew him because he never talked. Guess where he is now. He's a millionaire, started his own magazine. The last time I saw him was on his myspace with rap stars. One was snoop dog. Un-photoshopped. Go figure.

wierdmunky
:laugh: so you criticise me for being nasty and judgemental, when you call your schoolmate a loser who never talked? i guess people are complex, huh? not as complex as someone who argues inconsistency is nothing new and is acceptable because it's a known human flaw, so why all of the sudden the change in attitude of consistency. To go against this specific argument. I know where you stand now. It's nowhere. And I used the word loser, because that is what you labeled the kind of person he is, by your standards according to your previous posts. Hoping you'd understand better, and yet you still were so completely distracted you missed the point. And I never said you were nasty and judgmental you said that yourself.
