moimeme
These are a couple of general questions for the moment. Pick an answer or add one of your own. It is not a scientific study, BTW. On an average day, I feel: a) mostly neutral; neither particularly happy nor sad but not content, either b) mostly dissatisfied; I go through the motions but I wish things would change c) mostly unhappy; things in my life aren't going the way I'd wish d) mostly content e) mostly content but I get a little blue several times f) mostly content with moments of happiness g) mostly happy h) mostly happy with the occasional blue moment i) mostly happy with the odd moment of bliss j) mostly blissful - my life couldn't get any better How do you see your future unfolding? A) Life sucks and then you die B) It's got to get better than this C) I don't see things changing one way or the other D) Life is good; I expect it to stay that way E) Each day holds exciting possibilities F) It couldn't possibly get better than this

HokeyReligions
*snicker* My fav T-Shirt sez Life Sucks and Then You Die, and that is also on my Sister-in-law's tombstone! This is a hard choice for me. I think f) and C) come closest. I have not "recovered" from the loss of my children and I don't expect to. These are, I think, pretty remarkable for me considering the depths of depression I've been in.
VASH THE STAMPEDE
f&E but then you start thinking and look outside your window and you see people who are less fortunate than you.it saddens me to see good people going through bad problems. HOKEYRELIGIONS I'm sorry to hear what unfortunate obstacles have come into your life but as time goes on it will get better. TO ALL Life will always hold its destructive moments whether you are ready or not. Yet, it also brings the same with its happiness. LIFE is a hard thing ,but its the way we live it day by day,one problem at a time.

Author moimeme
Thanks for all the answers! I'm sad to see that some of you are having a hard time of it and I do hope things improve for you. I had a couple of reasons for asking. I was thinking about also asking whether your partner feels more or less the same way as you and if not, whether that causes problems between you.

Author moimeme
I feel that anything I could say to folks who came out on the less-happy range might seem trite but I sincerely do hope that anyone who is not feeling all that great about his/her life currently finds things improving for them soon. Don't lose hope, whatever you do. Every day is a gift; each day brings possibilities and eventually your fortunes will change. Sometimes it just takes time.
mattdad
C and B. Of course I broke up with the girlfriend on Monday and this is the first Saturday without her in over a year. Might have a LITTLE bit to do with the results...
VASH THE STAMPEDE
Right now I'm feeling C and A. And if you had one that said confusion I'd pick it too. Right at this moment I fell that I'm a fool ,I put my self in situations I shouldn't even be in and then don't know how to bounce back with dignity. I made a mistake and I keep haunting my self with it. I know I must move on with life ,but sometimes what can you do?

A) Life sucks and then you die Pretty much sums it up for me! Life's cruel I figured that out a long time ago and I was just recently reminded. But i must admit i'm luckier than most (not as lucky as some); I live in a wealthy country (not the US), i have a full stomach, a roof over my head, a job (a boring job but it pays the bills) and a family who love me. Just remember there are people in this world who are in far worse situations.

I'm not poor, not starving, and I have a wonderful family. Still, money and wealth don't bring happiness. I'm sure there are people living in poverty who, not knowing any other existence are perfectly content with the course of their life. And, there are people living in comfort who are absolutely miserable.
