bummedinva
In an uncontested divorce, when is the time to file a MSA or for divorce? She moved out and we have agreed in principle on who gets what. Do I need to document each things being removed from the main residence? Or can we sign something that basically says we have agreed to property settlement and have been separated for at least 6 months? I want to go about this as cheap as possible. Possibly using an online divorce site. But I am unsure of the chronology of events as they should happen. Can we wait several months and then start all the paperwork? How does this work from a what-to-do-when standpoint?

It had long lists of stuff to fill out concerning splitting debt, and who gets what property. You can find out what your start requires online.

However does that form need to be filled out and filed prior to separation or afterwards?
