Hello,

I had a tarot reading today - just out of curiousity. I was amazed at her accuracy and just wanted to know what experiences people had had with tarot readings, aura readings etc.

I had a tarot reading once several years ago, absolute crap, despite the fact that his 'accomplice' was walking round the room listening to people's conversations beforehand, he still gt it almost totally wrong.

A good deal of tarot readers (nearly 100% of those who charge for their services) are experts at cold reading, and know statistics very, very well. The top three questions are: love, money, career, followed distantly by family and friends. The more they talk to you, the more information they are gleaning from your body language and verbal cues.

 

I guess the thing that would be helpful is to take a good look at what was accurate opposed to the things that weren't. People tend to pay more attention to the 'hits' than the do the misses. Another thing to consider is that if you give the same reading to five different people, all five are going to find something that relates to themselves. Like horoscopes, I suppose.

 

Now, that said - I've been studying them for more than twenty years now - and part of studying the phenomena is debunking. It is unfortunate that people who have a talent for holistic interpretation and help others (for FREE I might add) through what is basically a guided meditation get mixed in with fraudsters and con artists.

 

That happens in every belief system though, if you think about it.
