gemstem
Island Girl, My heart goes out to you and your husband, and I am wishing you all the best. Yeah, it's one more hurdle, but you are nearly at the finish line, and you are both winners. Gem
Author Island Girl
Thank you gemstem. That means a lot that you came here to say that considering what you are going through in your relationship. I wish you the best.
Nicodaemos
Yea, even though its something gives a major change to his look, its something that could have happened even if he was with you. And yes, dentures are an option as well. Its a change, yea, but only a physical one. It wont be affecting who he is, so its good to know that. Getting closer Island Girl, I cant imagine how you feel right now, but I can only hope that it just gets better. and it will, youve made it this long already, and he will be back with you real soon, and it will be over before you know it. Congratulations.
Author Island Girl
Thank you Nico. I know it will change his look a little bit. At least temporarily. I read quite a lot about implants last night so I am going to check into the dental school near us in CA. It would be less expensive and they have rave reviews. I just don't want him to have to pop his teeth in and out at 42 years old. He should be able to eat and everything just like everyone else. Sometimes I just hate his living conditions. I mean, I love the country. I love the people - and I am a citizen there because it was automatic when I married him there. But the standard of medical and dental care is atrocious. Soon. Very soon he should be coming. He said last night "I can't wait to see you" and he hasn't been able to say that for over two years.

TMichaels
My husband looks almost identical to Dwayne Johnson "The Rock". Coincidently, your husband's "look-alike" will be hosting Saturday Night Live this weekend (March 7). Don't know if watching might give you a bit of diversion as you try to get through the rest of your long journey, but thought I'd mention it if you didn't know... Best, TMichaels

Author Island Girl
TMichaels!! You sly thing! It is Dwayne Johnson!!!! Yours too?!!!!!!!!! When he wears sunglasses do people come up to him and ask for his autograph! They do with mine -- or did when he was here -- and then they'd say "you're so much bigger than I thought you were"!!! (My hubby has about 40 pounds on him... )
dropdeadlegs
Wow, Island Girl. I have followed your story for years. Legal immigration is ridiculously filled with red tape but I am very happy that you have chosen the path of "most" resistance versus the illegal route. Ultimately this route will be far more beneficial (at least I hope so.) It will prevent anything bad from happening in the future. Once together, and that is looking soon, nothing will prevent that legally. You have so many supporters. Count me amongst them.

We're finally at the end of this long journey. (I hope!) I am stressed out like you wouldn't believe. I just wish all of this was over and he was here already. Thank you for your support. It does mean a lot to have so many pulling for us.
