Smoothchik Posted October 7, 2003 Share Posted October 7, 2003 So, to make a long story short, I have been seeing this guy for a bit, and we have ended up sleeping together several times. We both agreed that we didn't want anything serious, as he is not going to be around for more than a few months, but things have been kinda weird (WHOLE other story!) Now he has left on vacation for a week, and he told me that he would "call me soon" and "talk to me when he gets back." Do I call him to wish him a safe trip and mention that I want to see him again when he gets back, or is this too pushy and possesive? What do you think - do I just wait untill he calls again? jenny Posted October 7, 2003 Share Posted October 7, 2003 but heads up, you are getting overly invested. divest. focus on other things. and other men. go on your own vacation. any relationship that proclaims itself casual is going to have an added weight of ambiguity before it gets to the stage where you could assume contact after a vacation. this freedom is a plus, don't forget that - assume he wants to talk to you when he gets back, if not, who cares? do not look for reassurance at this point. it's unprecedented, insecure, and might drive him away. assume he is a free agent until otherwise informed and make sure you remember you are one too.
