Do I want her back?

Recommended Posts

I have recently split up with my girlfriend of 4 1/2 years. We were best of friends, got on really well and had a good sex life. However I wasn't sure if she was the one and whether I was willing to settle down now. I'm 25 and haven't really played around.

We got together after a bad break up between myself and my ex. More and more the little things were grating on me (the fact she was very confident and i wasn't, that she had a solid career path set out and I was floating, and that we didn't have many shared interests).

After I ended it (about 6 weeks ago) I have just been mainly getting drunk and coping reasonably. On Sun we met up and I suddenly felt like I had made a bad mistake. i'm now thinking a long term future is possible. However she's now not sure. She feels if we haven't seen each other in 6 weeks and haven't felt like our hearts were breaking every day then it's a sign. She says some days she's gutted but some days she's fine - she' hasn't got strong feeling either way. I'm lost. HELP.

Whats there not to be confident about??

A lot of relationships last because the people involved are uncommon.

Why get drunk, your problem will still be there tomorrow when you are sober.

You should have really put alot of thought before acting on your feelings.

All I could say is if you missed her and felt lost without her, you should let her know and then maybe something could be worked out.

I often felt that there was someone who was more 'like me' to be honest. Similar interests etc.

Played around as in before this relationship I hadn't seen many people - if fact only 2. At uni i spend all 4 years in a relationship. It's almost like I want to have my wild time now.

Sorry I meant I'm not a confident person in myself. I'm pretty shy -even though years of drinking has 'helped' get me out my shell.

true - very true - sometimes i look at what we have and think other people must be jealous.

True. I've had a history with the bottle esp. in previous relationship where i was trying to destroy it my getting smashed. I don't know why I get so drunk recently.

This could be the worst mistake of my life or my best. I can't tell.

Thanks again.
