That horrible itch...

Recommended Posts

I have these unresolved issues that have been bugging me more and more... I'm itching to discuss them with him, however it might escalate into something emotionally-charged, and he's sitting for an exam on Friday and I don't want to screw that up for him!

.... *bangs head against wall*

Journal your thoughts and feelings, either by pen and paper or use the computer. Theraputic reasons for the time being! Whatever you do, do NOT talk to him about this right now, it's unfair to put any extra stress on him during his exams.

When his exams are over, then talk to him, sort out whatever it is that's bugging you.

Hi there

Well, Friday is coming soon - so you WILL be able to talk to him then.

However the emotions on your side can escalate only because you are having to sit with them.

I agree with WWIU that you should write out how you are feeling, etc. If only to vent in lieu of speaking with him.

He doesn't know this is all happening on your side in your head and when he hears it - you could end up starting off at a level 10. You don't want that - you want a productive conversation.

It will also help you organize your thoughts to get them out and defined.

Yup, it was a great idea, I don't usually prefer to write if there's any other alternative though, since I have this habit of pondering overly-much over anything that I'm writing about, I don't know why. It gets to the point where I sometimes decide not to post on forums about certain problems as well because I'll be thinking about my post even after it's done, re-reading it and critique-ing it (that editor in me, born of self-training to write for publication, as becoming a writer was one of my abandoned dreams)... which all ends up with me dwelling on it more than if I hadn't written anything about it. It's true what you say about writing putting things into perspective though.

Awwwww Elswyth!

Let yourself go here! It is the one place that you can just put stuff out there and we won't be critiquing it!

We all are lucky to have found this forum where we can get support sometimes in ways we can't in "real life" because of the rarity of people being in a relationship like we are.

My friends that have known me from before this relationship, when we met, when we went LD, and all during this time - they are supportive, yes, but they do not truly KNOW what I go through. They can only imagine. That helps of course.

But the others here KNOW.

So we're here for you.

Tomorrow is Friday - so you'll be able to discuss things with him soon enough.

I hope it goes well.

Good for you for having the self-control to NOT say anything to him until this exam is over! I know that when I get the "itch" to discuss something, I always end up taking it to him, regardless of timing. I'm selfish that way.

Just one more day and then you can spill!

Thanks, both of you! :)

Yes, I know that noone here would ever criticize my posts (there's this special bond between the posters here, from what I've observed, perhaps because of the less common and rather unfortunate circumstances that most of us are in), but I myself still dwell on my own writing, just from pure habit... I cannot really say why! I'm gradually getting over it, though. :p

Hehehe....

That's probably the analytical, inner control-freak coming out. Your posts are fine. :)
