How to lose love handles

I am a 34 5ft 9in male. In Auguest 2008 I was 260ish and wore a size 44 pants.. After cutting out soda, fast food, eating out, bad snacks, and learning portition control (as well as a shift change at work) I lost 20 pounds off the bat. I then added light excersise, mainly park walking a mile and working up to 3 or so and dropped down to 220. I maintained this weight for a good couple of months without losing or gaining. I joined the YMCA and dropped another 10pounds, but it seems that I'm at a standstill. Basicly I just play basketball or do a mile on the stairmachine or something like that. At this time I'm about 210 and can slide into a size 36..

 

Question One) My problem is my love handles.. My waist is still around 41 or 42 Inches and I'm lost as to what my next step is on how to battle these down.

 

Question Two) I signed up for the YMCA Boot Camp. Does anyone have expirence with one of these?

Well, i can correlate a bit with this. Also had some love handles and they are indeed very tough to get rid off.

I followed some excercises from Menshealth magazine, they actually have them in there website and are very useful. Not only the excercises that involve the side muscles of your belly to be constantly stressed and worked out but also all the other excercises.

In other words, you should be focusing in lowering your fat percentage and the love handles should start to dissappear.

I had them at one time. I'm not quite as big as you were (I'm now 5'9", 175lbs, was up to 195lbs when I had my love handles). I got rid of them gradually by improving diet and exercising my core muscles (abs, obliques, lower back) a couple of days a week. I actually dropped 40 lbs (down to 155lbs) but have since added about 20 lbs. of muscle from a regular weightlifting routine.

 

Even with what you've done, you could probably shave some more off with dietary modifications. Probably need to know more about specifically what you eat, how often, when, etc. to offer any specific advice.

Yes unfortunately it is impossible to lose fat from any specific part of your body -only losing body fat overall is possible. It sounds to me like you have a couple options: you can either lose weight or gain muscle -it is actually very difficult and slow to do both at the same time. If you would like to loose weight start by eating 16kcal / lb of body weight that you posses; its easier if boring to plan it out and eat the same thing every day. Then start taking your weight every friday; if you are not losing weight cut 500 cal from your diet. If you are losing weight keep eating the same ammount.

 

The big problem i didnt like when i was overweight and started to lose weight was that my tits turned into bitch tits as the muscle there degenerated. So i went on a bulking cycle and built lots of muscle first -then lost weight; so that i could bear to look at myself in the mirror. But to each there own for sure.

 

You should do cadio like you are doing and maybe add in a strength training routine as well to help preserve some of your muscles. Stronglifts 5x5 beginner strength training program is really good in my opinion http://stronglifts.com/stronglifts-5x5-beginner-strength-training-program/

lipo! seriously theres certain spots in your body you can never ever egt ride of even with all the diets or everyday at the gym...

LoL well if were going for extreme measures there is also thyroid hormone, clenbuterol, ephedrine/caffiene/apirin stack, DNP, steroids, and all other manner and form of crazy things you can do... which are all alot cheaper than lipo (and we can argue alot over what is safer: but as a university student i do go for price point alot :D) Anyway i think he not only wants to loose his love handles but also wants to get in shape (or so i assume) so that when the time comes to show off his body to his lover he can do the deed to her satisfaction.

 

In any case: based on our friend Nebo's stats he should EASILY be able to drop down to 190 with only a couple of minor adjustments to diet and excersise, i was 250 and went to 190 without much trouble (and without anything drastic) before i started my bulking cycle -and i am 6 foot 2.

even when you buy clen off ugl's(underground labs)it tells you be very careful with this product. yes i've used it, numerous times. does clen work you bet ya, just melts the weight off.i got a bottle of it just sitting here.BUT with this product, if you're not experienced you can get seriously messed up! very high heart rate,shortness of breath,severe shakes, and in some cases major paranoid.

Like i said, i consider all of it (clenbuterol and the like) "Extreme measures" and also like i said -based on his stats he should be able to hit 190 without too much trouble. Some dedication, some cardio, and lot of good healthy eating will get him there in no time at all.
