Trialbyfire
Running up the stairs will give you a good workout. Running down the stairs is murder on your knees. True but I haven't had any problems and have been doing this for a little over 6 months. I do wear a pair of decent running shoe for the job, ASICS GT-2140's. Keep in mind that I grew up mogul skiing and have taken kick boxing, albeit neither in any competitive way, so my knees have taken a lot of punishment in the past and haven't ever had problems with them. I'll be careful and if I feel the slightest of issues, will stop. I do appreciate the warning.

FleshNBones
30-120 minutes of high-intensity cardio (swimming, elliptical, biking, or tennis), 3-7 times a weekCardio is low to moderate intensity at best.
Jake Barnes
I try to go to the gym at some point most days (4 or 5). I'll usually do 20 minutes on the elliptical trainer with the effort about a quarter the way up the effort scale (that's as technical and as energetic as I get about that piece of equipment). 30 minutes on the bike (that's when I make a lot of headway through whichever book I'm reading) and 20 to 30 minutes on the treadmill at 6km per hour. Time on the elliptical trainer and the treadmill doubles as my tv viewing time. If there's something really absorbing on, I might spend as much as two hours in the gym. I'm not interested in using weights. I'll follow the gym session with swimming a couple of times a week...usually doing maybe 30 minutes, but at a steady pace rather than racing up and down the pool. I used to cycle as much as 50 miles per week. Now it's more like 50 miles per month since I upped my gym visits. I don't exactly race along, and if I get to a steep hill I'll climb off and push the bike rather than exert myself. Probably fair to say that my approach is of the tortoise rather than the hare, but I got my fitness assessed last December and the gym instructor said it was really good. Oh wow no wonder
Ruby Slippers
Cardio is low to moderate intensity at best. Depends on your goals. High-intensity cardio is great for blasting calories and boosting cardiovascular health. I have figured out the balance that works for my body. I was a competitive athlete and exercised intensely at least 4 hours daily in high school, so low to moderate cardio doesn't do too much to keep me in shape.

oasis
I do 3 days in the gym, 2 hours each day. At the gym, I workout with heavy weights. I do squats with a bar and 90 1bs added to the bar. Flys, pulls and 300 situps. On Saturdays and Sundays, I do a power walk in the park for 1 hr. And I walk to work daily. It is a 20 minute walk back and forth.
Lovelybird
I jog each day for 1.2 mile, and 60 sit-ups, at the first time I only did 20 sit-ups, what an improvement ! Also one has to pay attention what he eat and drink, very important

hotgurl
I run 4 to 10 miles whenever I feel like it. 3 to 4 times a week. Usually on trails. I'll be doing a lot more mountain biking this year. I'm wishing a case of tendonitis would clear up so I could lift weights. oh I have chronic and acute tendonitis. I can't do sqauts etc.. Last year UI couldn't run because of it. I am trying this year to see how it is. Does running bother your tendonitis?
2sure
I do 45 min a day on the tread mill. I alternate running hard with walking briskly. On alternate days I do weights or ab exercises. So - its an hour a day. I'm not "defined" but I'm healthy, and at a weight I like.
You'reasian
I usually work out twice a day. Morning includes a great deal of running either sprints, medium pace-medium distance or a long distance jog. Sometimes, I'll add in a crossfit routine afterwards. Evening includes sports-related activities, swimming, P-90X etc.
