Great book for atheists

Recommended Posts

And why is Christianity or other religions more appreciated and yet when it comes to us atheists without any religion whatsoever then we are seen as complete strangers. In certain cases they can freely impose their views against ours but if we were to do the same then we might be given strange glances.

Or just subjected to door knocking.

Imagine if I knocked on your door with a science textbook and told you everything you believed in was just plain stupid.

I'd never think of doing such a thing. Mostly because I have a life that involves other things.

One thing I have learned and come to appreciate over the years, is that, you cannot have a valid or progressive debate with ANYONE unless you have done your research on both sides of the coin.

You don't have to believe in Christ- but don't argue about it unless you've read the New Testament. I respect people that make choices based on research and discovery. I've read Genesis- and I've looked into the big bang, big cruch, and quantam physics....

I'm capable of making a decision. I think that is what is most offensive to most people in matters of beliefs. Someone telling you that you aren't capable of coming to your own conclusions.

It works both ways.

Arbeit Macht Frei

That is actually not very funny at all...

I hope you understand the meaning of those words in German "Labor brings freedom" and that those words were printed on the entry sign to Auschwitz and are thereby a symbol to all German speaking people for the horror of the Nazi's.

I am making this point because this is the second time in this thread about "atheist books" that there has been an association to nationalist socialism.

I honestly have to say that actually sitting down and reading the bible cover to cover was for me the most important book in solidify my views about god and religion in general.

Why thank you. I had my screen name changed for privacy reasons, esp. when you don't want people that know you finding out what you wrote about them. Now it must be tougher those that are in commited relationships. That name stands for a TV brand and tha xoxo is a either a cloth or purse brand.

Actually I was referring to the title of your thread. I'm the one who started the "Great Book for Christians" thread.
