Disillusioned
A couple of days ago, some woman called me from out of the blue re the local singles club I tried to start half a year ago and ended up shutting it down because not enough serious people wanted to join, and I told this woman so. She asked me "well what alternatives can you suggest instead?" I felt frustrated (not at her but at the failed club), so I told her, "shoot a video of yourself, burn it onto a bunch of DVDs, and give them to everyone that you know". It sounds like a looney idea, but AFAIC I'm just crazy enough that I might try it myself!
Timmers
Okay... a cheaper alternative would be to post a vid on Youtube or on singles sites.
Author Disillusioned
Okay... a cheaper alternative would be to post a vid on Youtube or on singles sites. Yes but then you'd have to sort through mail from zillions of people who are stuck out in godforsaken parts of the world (and spam). It sort of defeats the purpose.
Timmers
So your purpose is to find someone to date, hopefully via a DVD you give out? I suppose that can work. I'm just thinking of it in a more frugal way -- for example you can give a business card with a website on it instead, which has a video of you on it.
Author Disillusioned
That, or get invited onto a TV talkshow and say, on camera, that online dating sites are BS.
Ronni_W
"shoot a video of yourself, burn it onto a bunch of DVDs, and give them to everyone that you know". I'd suggest to not limit to just people you know...leave stacks of the DVDs in coffee shops, malls, gyms, library, etc., etc., too!
Author Disillusioned
I'd suggest to not limit to just people you know...leave stacks of the DVDs in coffee shops, malls, gyms, library, etc., etc., too! That makes sense... it's not tagging because I'm not defacing anything. But I'd avoid leaving them in public bathrooms, LOL! Either way, the DVDs wouldn't cost that much... BTW the idea is for a serious relationship... a lot of game-players will run away scared, but some of the keepers won't. If games were my thing, I would have gone broke on prostitutes long ago.
