laRubiaBonita
i cut the bejeebus outta my finger saturday night..... i think it's kinda deep, but there is a big flap of skin i am too squeemish to look under it to see for sure. it is still bleeding off and on. would it have needed stitches? can i still get stitches? i have read conflicting info, and i dunno..... it's fine with the bandaid, but if it gets wet it starts to bleed again. anybody know? Art_Critic
It's probably too late.. you have to stitch relatively quickly.. like in 24 hours or the edges of the skin will not hold stitches.. If I were you I would go get some of those butterfly stitches at the drug store and goop the sucker up with iodine and neosporine and then butterfly it.

a4a
does it sting if you pour lemon juice on it?
Author laRubiaBonita
does it sting if you pour lemon juice on it? no... the vodka seems to cancel the lemon juice sting out..... and keeps the pain down actually, it doesn't hurt too bad at all.... well i have been reading more- and i think i did miss my window- but i have some of the medical glue, so i will use that- that stuff burns like a mo-fo though! Drink the vodka....... use the glue but do not glue your other parts of your body together..... use the bathroom before you glue anything.... let dry throughly before picking nose or scratching ass with finger. That crap does sting..... but it is cool as hell.

ThumbingMyWay
I cut my finger once, deep down to the bone accross the knuckle. I was in the field, and all I could do was hold it straight and wrap in in cloth. By the time I got home, it stopped bleeding. All I did was clean it with Hydogen Peroxcide, then I placed a bead of crazy glue over the cut (not in the wound), then let it dry and kept a bandaid on it for a week. Healed up perfectly, very minor scar. Should I have gotten stitches...YES....but I dunno, I heard they sometimes use crazy glue in ER's for cuts and it work fined. Of course I kept an eye on it for infection, but nothing happend.

I cut the bejeezus out of my three smallest toes while I was pregnant and should have gotten stitches. Took forever to heal and still have scar/sensitivity issues.

quankanne
crazy glue is supposed to be really good for that kind of cut, just be sure to doctor it with peroxide to kill any cooties. Also, the drugstore carries some kind of spray on clear shiny **** that acts as a bandage. The stuff I got smells a lot like clove oil and it works real good. However, the manufacturers lied when they said to get it off you only need spray another application over the first one, then peel it off. That don't work unless you have a wet washcloth scrubbing the stuff off. (they also suggested nail polish remover, but I DON"T THINK SO!" I'd go with the crazy glue if it only entails keeping two flaps of skin together, not dressing an open wound.
