Rollercoasterr
And I'm SOOOO excited! It might be small, but it's big to us. His family is french, and mine is, well...American. I figured it would be disrespectful of his family, and of those that are coming that wont be english speakers to only say our vows in english, and it turns out he was thinking that he wanted to say them in french too. So as our very first ever wedding decision that is set in stone we are now saying our vows in both french and english. Yippee!
Bearandsue
awww too cute. Fortunately and Unfortunately we are having a registry wedding. So no frills. We both wanted that. I am still excited and nervous and cant find a dress that I think is appropriate. Anyways congrats.
Bita26
Aww that's great you guys already made a decision for the big day! You know this reminds me of a wedding I helped to cater this summer. The bride was french and he was american. She had tons of relatives from France over so the vows were said in english and french. However the maid of honor gave her speech in french and the best man in english . Oh well some things don't need translation!
Island Girl
I think that is best! We did our vows in English and Tongan. (I do not speak Tongan so THAT was fun - lol) The guests really got a kick out of it. Well that is one decision down and only a million more to go! I'm glad we get to know how it is going in stages. Otherwise the little LS family would be completely left out! :bunny::bunny:
Author Rollercoasterr
Oh I don't speak french at all, let alone the type of french they speak in Quebec. It's going to be a whole lot of fun, I can tell you that. He's promised to help me and make sure that I don't mess things up, and I really really hope that I don't. This is so important to me and I really hope it turns out well. And you know that all of you guys are going to be informed of almost every little thing that happens with this wedding! haha I just HAVE to have somewhere to vent when he starts driving me nuts!! I now have him making me a list of love songs that he likes(and this is a big thing for him since he's one of those rawr rocker types), and we're going to put his list and my list together and listen to them all one by one when he gets here in April. Should be nice for a romantic cuddle session if nothing else gets accomplished there.

Lucky_One
One of the most beautiful weddings I went to was in Montreal, and it was tri-lingual. French, Japanese, and English. The bride was Japanese, the groom's mother is Anglo and his father is a Francophone, and there were guests there from at least 4 countries. They found a tri-fold paper that they printed the order of service on themselves, so that everyone could keep up. A wonderful night for everyone! Enjoy your planning, and always remember that it is the marriage that is important and not the wedding. Congratulations, and best wishes to you both!
Author Rollercoasterr
I would be just as happy marrying him on the beach somewhere, or in Tennessee as we had thought once before. But this is also his day, not just mine. He wants to have this princess day, and he wants beautiful things, and so do I. We're having fun with our wedding plans and if it doesn't go as planned that's fine. As long as he's the one standing at the end of the aisle waiting for me I'll be the happiest girl on the face of the earth. He's everything to me, he's my better half, he's just like the air I breathe. I just know deep down that we're going to have a long wonderful marriage. I'm thinking about doing Fuchsia, Green and Black for my wedding colors. I want this to be a different wedding, and I just think those colors go so well together. I'm just so happy to be marrying him that I'm completely in wedding mode right now. So sooo happy.
Cora
Rollercoasterr.....those are beautiful colors and they do go quite well together I have to agree! What you said about it being okay if things don't go as planned just as long as he is the one standing at the end of the aisle.....that is soo true!!! I'm sure he feels the exact same way about you! I wish you two all the best and have fun with the wedding planning!!:) Continue to keep us all posted!!!
