sugarmomma Posted April 1, 2009 Share Posted April 1, 2009 I filed for divorce a couple months ago. I sent my stbxh a text asking him if he got the papers. He said yes and that he was going downtown to take care of his part next week. I sent my attorney an email saying that he got the papers and she said as long as he doesn't contest in the next 30 days we go get the default divorce. So I sent him an email asking why he was going down and he said because the papers said that he has 30 days and that I was welcome to meet him down there. I said you only have to go if you don't want the divorce but since we agree you don't need to go. Since then he has not responded. Why has he not responded? By the way we were both very abuseive toward each other throughout the 3 year marriage. He started to get physical and I was willing to go to counseling and he didn't want to work it out. So I have moved on and it has been since Oct 07 since we separated and stopped having sex in March 08. Link to post Share on other sites

OR He believes that you have somehow conspired to screw him in some way not evident in the papers and wants to take them to his attorney for a look see. OR He is just enjoying knowing you are anxious and will let you continue to be until the 30 days have passed. I'd bet on this. But maybe he is just trying to make sure I don't have a hidden agenda. I am sure he still can't believe I actually filed. If he contests the divorce I can still get it except it will take longer.
