Dexter Morgan
you really have to ask how to gain weight? Eat your ass off. Try stuffing down some Hardees monster or thickburgers, fries.
squall
Simple. Eat a lot of food. Healthy food that is. More meat on the table is advisable for you. In a few weeks time, you'll gain a lot of wait.
bean1
Gaining weight as a woman is a bit tricky, if you aren't careful, it will all go straight to your ass and hips. Eat more BUT make sure it is stuff like fruit, cottage cheese, whole wheat breads, veggies, etc... healthy stuff, just more. I went from 112 to 118 but I didn't do it right the first time (burgers) and I had to work my ass off again to get back in shape.
Meaplus3
I'm trying to gain some weight myself. I wanted to take a 100% healthy approach to this but it was not working. So ,I've been drinking milkshakes.. and I'm gaining. So grab a milkshake or two. Mea:)
Isolde
Yeah, definitely, milk, nuts, bananas, potatoes, etc. Stuffing myself with junk food just makes me feel sick and weak, and it doesn't actually help me gain any better than the good stuff. As with anything else, the easy way out (ie, eating whatever you want) doesn't really work.
fral945
If you’ve ever heard of people dieting using the concept of eating foods with a low energy density you could do the opposite and eat foods with a high energy density. Examples would be: 1) Eat dried fruits instead of eating whole fruit, or pick fruits with a lower water and fiber content 2) Use more added vegetable oils (olive, canola) in your recipes if you cook or add them to foods you eat (such as high fat, olive oil based salad dressings) 3) Eat more healthy fatty foods (like nuts, seeds, and fatty fish) 4) Drink more calories (liquid calories are not as filling as solid calories)

cocakola
Add more calories to your normal meals. Drink juices or milks besides water. Eat more starchy or fatty fruits. Bananas, avocados, mangoes, etc can be helpful. Top breads with more spread. Use more diary/nut butters, and make your own thick mayo to add to your sandwiches. Add extra oil to your salad dressings. Eat more flour based foods in general. Make pasta dishes with cream based sauces. Try and snack on nuts and dried fruit. Dark chocolate bars are another option. You have to get really creative when trying to gain weight. I'm a male that's currently trying to gain weight(although I've been on the other side of things as well, I'll tell you losing is easier than gaining since you're trying to continue a process that in most adults has already stopped)... you have no idea how many creative ways exist to help you increase calories. Ever hear of olive oil shots? lol If you have a high speed blender, you can look for some weight gaining recipes and whip 'em up with ease. Do you run? If you run a lot, one thing that can be helpful is taking a day off here and there and replacing your running with other workouts like a few push ups and squats. If you don't exercise, you can start a simple routine that's geared toward increasing mass rather than torching it off. Hope I gave you some ideas! Good luck.
Ross PK
I've never known a girl to want to gain weight before (not that I think there's anything wrong with that), even ones that are really skinny. In fact they seem to like being that way. I'm guess you don't have a fast metobolic rate (since you have gained weight before), so it should be easy for you to gain weight by eating a lot, but then eating a lot of junk food to gain weight isn't going to be that healthy. Some antidepressants can make you gain weight, even if you have a fast metobolic rate (since some can slow it down).
Trialbyfire
How tall are you unique77? If the pic in your avatar is you, as you are currently, I don't see any need for you to gain weight. There's a weight gain supplement drink called Boost plus, which has 360 calories in an 8 oz bottle. If you drink one or more of those per day, in addition to all your meals, no matter how fast your metabolism, you'll gain weight! My Dad is currently on this stuff, due to his previous surgery and weight loss. He's starting to finally gain a couple of pounds back of much needed weight, since he never had much in the way of fat reserves.
lino
eat much more! Make sure most of it is healithy food though, pigging out on junk will just make you feel sick
sanjid123
To gain weight, you need to eat more calories than you need to maintain weight. How much calories you need is hard to say: someone who has a physical job for example needs more calories than someone with a desk job. A rule of thumb to gain weight is to eat your body-weight in lbs x 20kcal. In your case: 160x20 = 2880kcals, let's say 3000kcals to make it easy. But again, if you're very active chances are this isn't enough and that you might need 4000kcal or even 5000kcal a day to gain weight. The easiest way to up your calorie intake is to a) eat more b) eat caloric dense foods. Starchy carbs are one of the best foods to gain weight. 250g raw pasta for example contains 1000kcal. Same for rice, although pasta is easier. So the best foods to gain weight are: * Pasta. Especially white pasta, since it digests faster. You'll be hungry again sooner. * Rice. Same rule: white rice is better to gain weight, digests faster. * Breads. From my experience bread tends to make people fat, so watch out with this. * Potatoes. Especially sweet potatoes, they're more caloric dense. * Milk. Galon of whole milk a day equals 2500kcal. * Quinoa. High carb & high protein, gluten free, but can be expensive. Drinking 1 gallon of whole milk a day while eating something every 3 hours is the easiest way to drastically increase your caloric intake to 4-5 thousands a day and beyond. Keep it simple and GOMAD.
