longlegzs80
My mom and I used to be much more talkative to one another in the past. But we don't really talk to much anymore. I know she is very disappointed in me that I am not even trying to get into my field, but it is not that easy and I just have not motivation or confidence to do anything. So, that is how it has been. My mom I can tell feels that I am a huge disappointment and in a really bad rut. I don't know what to do. Her and I are both very depressed people and we both dont have the money to go talk to someone. Plus, I really don't want to hear some professional saying, "you are depressed". Been told that before when I was up at school by the school concellor and it really sucked. So, there it is. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME. THANK U.

Author longlegzs80
I have been having alot of problems with my private messaging thing. So, sometimes if I am very very lucky I can get into it, and sometimes which it has been like this lately where I have been having major problems. To answer your question. I am alive and ticking. That is it. Just been in the worst rut, and find that I really hate myself. But I don't just hate myself, I hate my family and the people around me. Just want to be on my own and can't afford that. Want to be in my field but it has been such a struggle with the economy and there has been no motivation from me at all. I have none. I don't know what to do with myself anymore. Seriously. My days usually consist of going to work, then comming home and going to bed every night at 8p.m because I am so overly tired and don't want to be up anymore. I have hit my most highest note of depression and I find that I don't know who to turn too. My mother is depressed, my grandmother is depressed, I am depressed as everyone on this forum already knows, and my family I don;t see but don';t really care about, my fathers side of the family I have never really seen, so there are issues. No one positive in my life. It sucks. Having a mom who has nothing positive to say to you, no positive encouragment, nothing. She I know is disappointed in me because I am not even trying to get into my field. Sure I look on the net and all, but more the likely I am going to have to relocate which is not too much of a problem, it is just the money issue and how I don't have any confidence in what I do. And that sucks when my field is Graphic Design/Advertising. So, there it is. Just have to get this stuff off my chest. Thanks for listening and caring. Thank you.
moimeme
Your family doc should be able to help treat depression. You can choose to go see or you can continue to suffer. I'd try option A, if I were you.
Iamhappy
Hi, Sarah. I sent you another pm. Hope you get it. Re: the depression thing. I really do think that it might help you if seek treatment for this. As Merry said, your family doctor can probably prescribe something that might alleviate some of the symptoms you're feeling. Your doctor should also be able to tell you what resources are available to you - tell him that money is a problem. A lot of places charge on a sliding scale basis. If you go to a therapist, make sure s/he is a good one and is a good fit for you. The sessions aren't just about talking about your problems, cognitive behavioural therapy is often used to help you change how you think/feel about something.
