era
Scar revision is usually performed by cosmetic surgeons. They make a new incision, then stitch it back together with very fine stitches...when it heals all you see is a very faint line.

Author SpanksTheMonkey
:eek: Do you have prison tats to go along with the knife wounds? lol no... There from/caused by my ex mostly I have one on my forehead from were he smashed a telephone across my head. The others ones I'm mostly concerned about I hate to say are self inflicted across my arm. Were I had carved myself with a butcher knife I had serious issues back then I know its amazing what humans will do to them selves or allow to be done to them..

Nah, I worked with teens that used self harm as an outlet. Oddly enough, I relate to, and understand the self harm easier than I do staying with an abuser. I think we all self medicate in different ways. You're looking at cosmetic surgery though. Do you think maybe your scars are more noticeable to you than anyone else? My friend used to cut, and she is self conscious of her scars on her arms- but I never would have noticed without her drawing attention to them.
era
I've read your posts about the abuse you sufffered - "tampon face", right? However I didn't know you were also a cutter. A guy I know burned himself with cigarettes around the ankle area...there were several scars. He got a tattoo to cover it..now you can't even tell...he also received help with his issues and no longer harms himself. I dunno...tattoos are probably not the answer for you - especially on the forehead.. But you can wear longsleeves.

Well there relatively newish ones say about 8 months old and they were quite deep this time I wasn't playing around. I had done it in the past I'm my early 20s and with years they had faded but as I have the possibility of a new partner in my future its really starting to bother me. I mean most people don't understand when some one dose this to themselves it freaks them out and they automatically think your a flake. I think they will heal with time but I just wanted to see if any one knew of something that can hurry it up plastic surgeon ha Well maybe I will see if theres one near me I can go and have a talk to and see what they think. Thanks D-lish for understanding its an embarrassing subject at best ..

Well its something I don't talk about and for the most part people don't ask so thats worked for me up until now. Ive always been interested in getting a tattoo but something small and meaningful and maybe done by a good artiest and some were descert like on my ankle. I don't think I would want one down my forearm Id feel like a real navy man then def not the look I want lol... Far as my issues well Ive realized I don't deserve to be mistreated Ive gone no contact with Tampon face and I'm healing. In reality it will take years I guess to completely heal from something like that but I'm well on my way...
TaraMaiden
I would wear your scars with pride. they are a sign that he tried to break you but did not succeed. I understand you feel they are unsightly, and ugly and that you wish them to be not evident. But your life so far is testimony to your courage, and the fact that you are still breathing. I know (not personally, just know of) a Tibetan mark who bears his terrible scars with fortitude and serenity. His body will decay, decompose and pass away. His spirit is as strong as ever, and he is a kindly man. he is a great and humble example of the ability of a human being to come through hell and still be smiling on the other side... The outside may look a mess, but the inside is as strong as a mountain. _/l\_
Knowingmeknowingyou
Try Bio-Oil, its natural and was recommended to me by a nurse. It can be used for new or old scars.
