Can I be traced

Recommended Posts

I am worried that now I have posted on here personal things, that my partner can check and find the postings via our computer. I know about history and stuff like that, but can he find my postings if he is a software expert? Can he hack into my password easily for example on here and know what I have written??? Or would that be a long process, in which case I doubt he would go to those lengths.

why don't you wait and see what he does. if he does crack your password and read your stuff, you can kick his arse to the curb for being a psycho

Ha ha, yes, he has already looked up phone numbers and how often, so anything is possible. But yes, it is a downward slope when you start doing that stuff and nobody benefits. I have already lost something since he did that.

Have you read this?

From the Community Guidelines

Participants are reminded to use extreme caution when posting personally identifiable information on the site or when sending private messages. We recommend that you not disclose information that can be later used by others to identify you.

For your own protection and the privacy and security of all of our guests, personal or personally identifiable information such as the following may not be included within submissions to the forum:

  • E-mail addresses
  • Instant message contact information (screen names, usernames, etc.)
  • Telephone numbers
  • Mailing addresses
  • Bank account numbers
  • Passwords, usernames, or access codes

Please post judiciously about your personal matters. In most cases, once a post has received replies, we will not be able to comply with later requests for the thread's removal, as it would be unfair to those participants who took the time to respond thoughtfully to the topic at hand. Your post should be considered a permanent addition to the LoveShack.org forum, accessible by anyone on the Internet. For this reason we discourage members from providing details that would make them easily identifiable to friends, family members, etc. LoveShack.org is committed to protecting your privacy, and it is something that you should take care to protect as well. We also recommend that carefully weigh these considerations before using a picture which can personally identify you as an avatar.

Yes he can do that without being a software expert. You need to read up some online guides to internet/computer security. If you are using a shared computer, then you are at risk, especially if he's the administrator.

At a minimum, use a separate account with different password, and erase all your browser history, cookies, autofill etc. Ideally, use a different PC he doesn't have access to.

If your password is something personal to you then yes he might be able to guess it. Most hackers work by simply guessing your password.

However, if it's a random mixture of numbers and letters that make no sense, he won't be able to get it. He would have to know your username AND password.

The one weakness is your email account. He might be looking at your computer and see an email from this forum, listing your username. Then all he has to do is come on here and search for all posts by that user.

So make sure your email account has a strong password also.

as long as you clear your history religiously, have a username that is obscure, have a password that is long with plenty of numbers in it -- and turn off your subscription email feeds to this forum you should be fine.

make sure you log off from here each time as well.

is he suspicious about your online activity?
