Our sisterhood

Recommended Posts

It was said that some posters were being labeled as angry by Gamine. Well, their posts positively scream the fact.

Care to name names?

Calling 'a spade, a spade' is now proof of anger?

LOL

I am not trying to convert you or anyone here. As many dissenters there have been those in agreement. This thread was here for everyone to participate however if you did not want to why did you? In other words, you don't agree and that is okay. But when you attack my right and that of others for thinking and feeling this way, isn't that really an act of conversion? Many of us simply enjoyed talking about being good to one another. Sharing in this dialogue does not impact your right to think or feel the way you do and I never have. I never will. I do not seek to change you, convert you or do anything TO YOU.

You can say that our dialogue with those in agreement is trying to convert you. How can that be when we are just having an enjoyable time exploring the ideas of a sisterhood? How does this ideology attack yours?

Several in this thread were sharing in that. Why isn't that okay?

If you believe that holding up something that is inherently good and harmless to be an attack, perhaps you may be looking at it as something controlling... when it is passive.

Wow, now THIS is anger. LOL. LMAAAAAAAAAAO!

Thanks Gamine for proving the point. I don't have a problem with you sharing your view, as I am sharing mine. The conversion part is the coming back again and again with the platitudes that somehow your thoughts are *better* because you are so happy and kind. The implication is that the others are angry and bitter. Its the implied "be like meeeeee" that's giving that feeling.

The attack was calling the dissenters angry. I didn't call you delusional, why then call me angry? See the difference, Princess?

LOL

smh

So jj33, was right? In defense of your "way of life", you have now called us dissenters angry. Hmmmm.

Thing is, I live pretty much the same way. In MY way of life its called the Golden Rule not some mythical sisterhood. I treat others the way I would like to be treated whether or not they treat me in that way. To treat others they way that they treat me would be lowering my standards.

We aren't a tough crowd, Gamine. We simply aren't looking to be converted. There is another forum for those seeking to convert others around here somewhere.

Then now would be wonderful time to apply the golden rule. Which, by the way, I totally respect.

We come back again and again because that is what this thread is about. And, who called you bitter or angry? Not me. There is nothing in my post that labeled you as such. Maybe I like your posts.

Gamine tried to diffuse the anger by further explaining herself. It didn't work. It simply elicited more anger. If someone doesn't want to be perceived as angry, perhaps a different tone in their posts would help. Someone offers a white flag to all women, and someone else is ready to burn the thing. If it sounds like anger and looks like anger, it's probably anger.

I'm glad you're not angry. It feels better to not be angry. :)

But there was no anger, it was simple disagreement. To which she then tried to persuade others into agreement - not really explaining when you tell people to read further as if enlightenment just hasn't hit them yet.

But what do I know. I'm angry, apparently. LOL

Oh, Gamine and Donna, I love you guys posts and your passion. I just don't share that. I'm not trying to convince you that you are wrong. I am just not agreeing with the sisterhood concept. I hope you haven't seen my disagreement as some sort of attack. Posters have been labeled as angry - that's an attack. Calling your concept utopian criticizes the concept, not the one giving it. I don't agree with the concept. But I feel people are free to live life however they choose, even if they choose to be an OW (the sisterhood thing seems to imply there is something wrong with that concept).

Call me "old fashioned", call me what ever you will, but the one thing I insist on is honesty. I have the deepest respect for you and your opinion, I also am not IN ANY WAY, trying to convert you from your beliefs. I believe that you are wrong to make gender distinctions, and consider this discriminatory. I have tried to state the reasons that I believe this , in a civil manner. You have replied honestly and and with complete grace. I hope to get to know you better, in the future, you give meaning to the term" Lady". You are , to me "Gamine the fair", and I am ..... Y.O.S.........Jack
