Maybe it's just me, but it feels like the few weeks leading up to a visit with OH is the worst! It goes SOOO slow and I find myself almost wishing I didn't know until 2 days before he's supposed to come just to save all the hassle. You'd think it'd be the happiest time in the few months we're apart, seeing as how you finally have a visit scheduled, but it's not. I find myself feeling more miserable. The time drags on, we're both stressed because we're anxious for the time to pass quickly. We both work our butts off so as to not be sitting around dwelling on it so we're both exhausted.

Anyone else find this too? Or maybe I'm just a bit loonie ;)

My fiance and I ALWAYS end up fighting before a visit. It's what we do. We hate it, and wish it would stop, but it hasn't thusfar. We both get a little cranky and a little needy so it's like a ticking time bomb.

But yeah, the days leading up to a visit are the absolute worst. I'm on 11 days to go right now and I swear yesterday seems like it was day 11 1/2. I hate the waiting!

Yes that's exactly it! I find that we seem at each other's throats when we should be jumping for joy! Usually we only know about 4-6 weeks before he comes due to his job. I think this time, he had 4 weeks notice. We've had some rough days since then. Down to nearly 48 hrs now! Funny cause the last 1 or 2 are great, it's just the 3 weeks before it LOL

Hmmm. Strange, but I feel happiest the days before a visit, because I've something to look forward to. I love making plans about what I'd like to do with him, how I can sneak pleasant surprises in for him, daydreaming about all the time that we'd spend together, etc. Except this time, due to the uncertainty of whether or not my guy can actually make it. :(

Usually, though, the worst days for me are just after he's left.

You need to learn to "ignore" the date. It's like waiting for christmas presents when you are a kid - if you focus on the time to go, it just stresses you out, makes you impatient, and the time passes slower.

Instead, forget (as much as you can) about the date you will meet, and just live your life normally. Then bingo, one day your trip is going to be happening in 24 hours - problem solved.
