Rollercoasterr
I just saw the biggest freaking spider of my life. It was fuzzy and was pushing what looked like to be an egg sac. I ran back in the house, but I still feel like spiders are all over me. Mathew says he's never seen spiders as big as what we have here. Canada looks better every second. If Kentucky wants to keep me, it needs to rid itself of the giant spider population. I HATE SPIDERS!
Maggs
LOL I've not seen any big ones like that up here in Canada. Are you emigrating here, or he to there? I'm going to be moving to Scotland next year--and man they've got some freaking BIG spiders there! Size of my hand kind of spiders. EWWWWW! The little ones don't bother me now after seeing one of those crawl up the side of the couch.
Author Rollercoasterr
He's moving down here. But if the size of the spiders keep going up, I might change my mind lol. It just seems like they're everywhere this year. Meanwhile, he's just sittin happy up there with the normal spiders, and not that many of them either. Little does he know, since he's moving down here he'll have to be my big strong spider-killer man for the rest of his life!
Trialbyfire
Haha...I hate spiders too! How big was it? The reason I ask is that Canada does have big, disgusting spiders, as well. It depends on where you live. We're also home to the black widow and brown recluse spiders, at least in the province I live in.

Thank goodness!!
Author Rollercoasterr
The spider was as big as my hand. It was a Wolf Spider. We have abundant amounts of black widow and brown recluse as well, and a few of my family members have been bitten by both. Not a fun time. He lives in Quebec. I don't know if it's because he lives in the city or what, but he's absolutely terrified when he comes down here, lol. He did kill one for me during his last visit so I think he's getting over it. I, however, am not.
Trialbyfire
They have wolf spiders in Quebec, although they're not the size of your hand! Do you live in Texas? I hear they grow everything bigger there!

Author Rollercoasterr
Kentucky, actually. 5 years ago we didn't have this problem. It seems like this year the forests are trying to eat the houses. I have NEVER in my life see the trees and the greenery spread so much so quickly. I know that this is the cause of the spiders and other little critters coming out. But it seems like they've gotten bigger too. I think mother nature is punishing us for global warming by sending out legions of spiders. He did kill a rather big one last night in his apartment. I don't know if his rather big is the size of a quarter or half my hand, but still lol. I think I'd much rather take chances with the spiders in Quebec versus the gigantic spiders crawling around Kentucky. At least if I was there I'd just scream and point at it until he killed it. As long as they aren't a hazard to my health I don't mind spiders and will do my best to put them outside to continue on with their life, but wolf spiders eek! They are plotters! Author Rollercoasterr
The way I see it, there's no reason whatsoever for ANYTHING to have 8 legs and a bunch of eyes. But I'm the person that throws a book from across the room and prays it's dead and not just pissed off. But what's worse is that the stupid spider(before I chopped it's legs off with the weedeater), hunkered down like it was getting ready to pounce on me. Those things are evil and I vow to never go outside again until 10 days. Then it's straight to my car, and to the airport. I might come back from canada, or I might just fake my own death and stay until they figure me out. If that spider isn't dead, it's going to be waiting on my bed when I get home, minus 3 legs. Trialbyfire
Ha! Know that feeling. I once dropped a phonebook on a recurring spider who walked across the livingroom floor every night. When I finally got the guts to lift up the phonebook, he ran away! I think he wore kevlar.
thegoodlife
I hate spiders too! I had a scary encounter with one today at work actually. I definitely ran away.
SophieA
I usually just suck them up in the vaccuum but that one might have been too big! lol.
Author Rollercoasterr
Found another fairly large spider in a pile of towels in my laundry room floor. Canada, here I come!

D-Lish
Quebec/Ontario have its share of spiders. Anyone who has ever been cottaging knows of the dreaded dock spiders. They are pretty freakin' big. I've also had a couple encounters with water snakes. Snakes freak me out- spiders don't. Nothing we see in NA compare with the freaky jungle creatures- snakes and spiders bigger than we are.... alphamale
spiders are meek little guys who cause no harm. they may have six eyes and eight legs but they can be crushes with the light tap of a rolled up magazine. there's nothing to fear. its always nice to meet the rare girl who is not afraid of spiders personally, they are the only insect that creep me out, them and cockroaches....anything else i can handle
Author Rollercoasterr
Oh I don't doubt that there's spiders up there, especially around where his parents live, but he says he doesn't see them much. Maybe it's because he lives in the city(sorta) and huge spiders would rather spend their times in the woods attacking people. I can handle smaller spiders, just not ones the size of my hand. ewwwww. Author Rollercoasterr
Do you like my avatar I'd much rather like to throw a book at it. Spiders seriously seriously creep me out with all those eyes. Yeah, they're great for pest control, but they don't need all those friggin eyes! And just for the record I'm not a big fan of eyeballs of any sort. Too many horror movies, I think.
