northstar1
I've been to Montreal many times, there are a lot of great places to eat, and walk and see and do. If you want any ideas on places, PM me.
boldjack
GT, Copperheads aren't really a problem, When I was a boy I used to use an old golf club to dispatch them. Mcgregor 5 iron works wonders. RC, I live in Michigan and do a lot of business with a company in Sarnia, so I'm there at least every other week, I also own property near Thunder Bay. I'm also a big REDWINGS fan, so my Canadian friends and I, give each other a certain amount of ****.

I think my family's pride and joy in life is to tease "the Canadian"(which is what they call him). The poor little thing lives a hard life when he comes down here because each time he does UK Basketball goes in the crapper. That just doesn't sit too well for Kentuckians. But we love him anyways. I do still wonder how Mounties pulled people over for speeding. Did they stick a little light between the horses ears and let it chase full blast? Or did they just call it a day and go for a drink? :bunny: He hates that question, lol.
boldjack
Nah, they go get a Molson's and a back bacon sandwich. Besides most cops in Canada, live at Tim Horton's anyway.

I can understand why. I love Tim Ho's. They go as far south as Ashland, KY, so we're lucky enough to have one. I'll have to put Tim Ho's on my what I want to do list since there's one on the corner of his street. Open 24 hours, too. So I can roll him out of bed at 3am and bug him to get me coffee, lol. Author Rollercoasterr
I went to college in Morehead, so I spent many weekends in Ashland because my roommates were from there. Olive Hill isn't that far away from Morehead either. But I tried Tim Ho's about 3 years ago, and had no idea that it originated from Canada. When Mathew told me that I almost died. I loved their candy cane hot chocolate that they have during the winter.

Author Rollercoasterr
Martin County, here. Inez. I drive through Inez quite a bit. If you blink, you'll miss it. About like Pikeville, though. Can't say much.

Almost accepted a job in Pikeville fresh out of law school. Personal injury lawyer, blondish, must've been about 6'7'' or so.
Author Rollercoasterr
Oh goodness, probably Eric C Conn. Wait, he's our SSI lawyer. That man thinks he's the most beautiful creature on the face of this planet. He actually went to New York and had them make statues in his likeness to have sit on top of his billboards. The first time I saw one I thought Eric was trying to commit suicide. But really, for Pikeville to be so small(although we're getting new businesses and growing), there is about 300+ lawyers in the area. I can't imagine they'd make much money. But you still see them driving the big nice cars, and building mansions so they must be doing something right.

Don't know if it was him or not (this was almost 20 years ago), but it takes some kind of chutzpah to put a damn statue of yourself on your billboards. Admirable rifle targets, I'd imagine. boldjack
Mansions? What, no double-wides parked on the side of the mountains? My oh my .....times have changed.
Author Rollercoasterr
Oh no, those are still there. Plenty of them. Complete with tires in the front yard, and beer cans in the holes of the tires. But we're moving on up, lol. Most of us have semi-decent homes, even if they are still up in the head of "hollers". Not only one, but 3! And some kids stole one of them and had it sitting in their bedroom. He paid $10,000 to have it returned. He's a sad little man.

Author Rollercoasterr
The roundball problem has been solved with Calipari. You guys are golden now. Coach Cal is like Kentucky's Chuck Norris. He'll scare all them spiders away with just that twinkle in his eye and his number 1 picks. Oh, Coach Cal how we love you. They're having Midnight Madness(our little team preview) in the Football Stadium this year instead of Rupp Arena because so many people want to go. Maybe I can talk the canadian into going with me. Lovin a scrapper
Im a born and bred Oklahoma Sooner and we hold football on that pedestal as UK does basketball so Im with you on traditions of a major college sport. He will love midnight madness. Those events are a lot of fun. I had a chance to go to one at Kansas but passed. What an idiot. lol And of course Calipari will get rid of the spiders. It helps recruiting. lmao

But Kentucky Basketball is a tradition. We want to do everything else well, like our football, but Basketball is really the only thing we care about. Louisville isn't even considered part of the state anymore, lol.

We had to put up with Gillispie here in the Big XII for a few years and he did an awesome job at aTm but I was surprised when UK hired him there cause his style just didnt fit what everyone is used to there. We wanted Billy D, but got Billy G instead. He's an awesome coach, but he didn't know how to handle us. You have to be the sort of coach that knows that the happiness of the entire state is riding on your shoulders. This is a lifestyle here. He just wasn't suited for us. I've heard Coach Cal talk about the upcoming season on his radio talk show and I'm in love with him already. He just sounds really ready for the job and for his chance to shine in the UK spotlight. Maybe he can bring us back to the winningest ball team in history.

Author Rollercoasterr
So I decided to go out and finish the weedeating, and what do I see? A massive freaking Brown Recluse. Once again, dropped the weedeater, ran inside. Looked just like this one. http://newsroom.ucr.edu/images/releases/304_1.jpg
bean1
Oh dear, don't go to the Biodome, it's awful It's really not very nice at all. If he's in Laval then you guys should go to Mt. Tremblant for the day or even just spend time south of McGill University. You might enjoy the Old Town too, but if you are there for more than a day, I highly recommend taking the 2hr drive to Quebec City and the old town, it is the most beautiful city in the world (and I've been to Europe!) Author Rollercoasterr
I'll mention those to him and see what he thinks. I'm up for anything, really. I just want to make the most of my time there with him. His birthday is next saturday(the 6th), so this is really like his birthday visit thing. I want to make it special. And I know he doesn't do much there since all he does is go to school. Chances are, he's probably never been to most of these places either. I'll be there for a week so that should be enough time for some fun stuff and some us stuff too.
